Gears of War redeem code is wrong region

I have the Gears Of War 4 Limited Edition Xbox One S console. I have just now received the promo codes for Gears of War and Gears of War 2 (but not yet 3). The code for Gears of War 2 works, however the first code for Gears of War does not - it says the
wrong region. I have been online with Microsoft support trying various things and they suggested I post in here to get the promotions team to send me a new (correct) code... my system is English UK.

Yes that's correct.becauae gears of.war 2 doesn't have an Ban in certain countries

Redeem codes

I live in Brazil and recently I bought gears of war 4 but can't redeem the codes for gears of war 1 and gears of war 3. The codes for gears of war 2 and judgment worked while the other two continue having the error that "something went wrong give it another
time" when I try to redeem the codes on my computer and when I try to redeem the codes directly on my console it gets the error that the game isn't available in my currently selected language and region.

 

All codes are universal and not region specific, could you post back the error code you're getting? You may be running into this issue because your Xbox Live account region isn't set to the region you're physically located in. To fix that, you will want
to use our Xbox Live Region Migration tool. If the issue you're running into is different, then a error code will be needed so we can help further narrow this issue down.

When done via the Website it is an XBOS-3012 code. This is with everything set to my UK region - English (UK) in the bottom left corner, same on my console itself etc. When I try to redeem on the console itself, I get "You can't acquire this item in your
currently selected language..." and "XboxPurchaseMismatchedMarketAndLanguage" down the bottom left.

Why would I need to use a region migration tool? I'm in the UK, everything is set to the UK...

 

Your account region may not be uk

Your actually have to check Commerce.microsoft.com for your actual region of your account

If you switch between the US and UK it can cause problems or you haven't been totally set to uk

Migrating just reaffirms it

 

The migration tool doesn't work either - I can only presume because trying to migrate to "united Kingdom" where I already am is a pointless exercise. I went to the commerce.micosoft.com website, looked up my profile, and unsurprisingly that too says United
Kingdom.

Clearly there *is* a region attached to the code, because why else would one code work and the other one does not? Both were sent in the very same message - Redeem code 1 for Gears of War doesn't work with all the errors above, redeem code 2 for Gears of
War 2 did.

As suggested by supported you should use the tool

Gears region locks are triple region locks

Account region

Actual region

And language region along with console

All have to match and yes the tool is the only way to fix it

Now if you are using an google dns or a vpm also turn them off and use your native dns as they would give your a false reading

I'd you are using sky broadband or Virgin contact them and explain to them your geoip maybe wrong

You might want to run a traceip to check that

Google dns or a vpn or a bad gateway which sometimes happens with Virgin can mess with geoio

I can't use the region migration tool because as I said above it doesn't work. It gives this error, when I try to "switch" to UK - and has done it every time for the last 3 days I have tried it:

I went to geoiptool.com, it shows my IP as being in the United Kingdom.

Getting seriously frustrated with this - I bought a console from Amazon in the UK, all my regions are UK, what's the fix?
