Gears of War 5 multiplayer access without Xbox Gold subscription

The game was released as Early Access to Gears of War 5 Ultimate edition owners on September 6th. Gears of War 5 Ultimate edition is included in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription only. Gears of War 5 Standard edition, included in the regular Xbox
Game Pass subscriptions, releases September 10th. You should be able to play later today at 8pm local time.

I don't see Gears of War 2 in your game history. To play any DLC, you will need to full game (retail disk or downloaded version) in order to play it. You do not require a gold subscription to play the maps on your XBox, but you will need a gold subscription
if you want to play multiplayer online.

To play multiplayer games, you need Xbox Live Gold. The Xbox Game Pass, allows access to many games for paying this subscription.

I suggest checking if you are attempting to play a multiplayer game, without Xbox Live Gold while using Xbox Game Pass.

Open the Settings app and then use Account, the category labeled Subscriptions is available there.

Gears of war 5 is a good, solid game with an excellent story mode and multiplayer.
