    Gears of War 5 crashing.


    I am experiencing a recurring problem with Gears of War 5. It launches ok, however once you choose what type of game you want to play the game crashes to the home screen. I have managed to troubleshoot this and I discovered the following, the Xbox One X
    fans and drives spin up to high speed indicating heavy workload, the modem and router lights show heavy traffic outbound (backed up by network logs) during this time my Xbox One attempts connecting to approximately 30 servers and fails to connect to all of
    them. My internet is fiber optic 50mbs up and down, it is fully functional, and plenty fast enough for the task, and I get the same result with and without the router( meaning modem directly connected to Xbox One, with router connected via wired connection,
    and just for fun using my mobile data 4G LTE to eliminate my ISP as cause. Help! I have done all of the resetting and troubleshooting steps Microsoft reccommends.

    Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with Gears of War 5 crashing to the home screen. I recommend to try troubleshooting the Xbox console to help isolate a file or hardware issue.

    I recommend trying a power cycle
    of the console. If the problem persists, try doing a
    soft factory reset of the console, Reset and keep games and apps to help reset
    the operating system. Please note before doing this troubleshooting step, make sure to know your email and passwords for your Xbox profiles and stable internet connection.

    Try this out and let us know the results.
