Gears of war 4 Xbox one S limited edition system

i put around 4-5 in the campaign so far and absolutely blown away by the level of detail and polish its incredible and i love the new squad great chemistry the coalition knocked it out of the park imo

 

^ Yea the campaign is awesome! Proper. Been playing hardcore coop and it's balanced beautifully, difficulty builds and forces flexibility. Graphics are jaw dropping!

 

Yeah what little I have played of the campaign it is amazing with the HDR. My Gears of War 4 Elite controller that I bought to go with the GoW 4 Xbox One S is awesome as well what little time I have gotten to play with it because it came two hours before
I had to get ready to go to work.

Horde mode is fantastic but a few times me and Mark noticed people quitting out, that would get annoying. I think on one got we got to Wave 34 and then everyone except us two left. Maybe if that made it that you lost your XP you earns during that session
if you quit out it would stop this?

 

just finished the campaign and this is officially my favorite gears game and tied with quantum break right now for GOTY not gonna lie the ending choked me up just a lil bit make sure you guys stick around for the credits

 

I'm with everyone of you, it's an excellent game, loading times were up and down yesterday, but I only managed a few games before work. Day off today, going to be a gears bender me thinks. Will post back later / tomorrow with the loading results, either
way, definitely a AAA game.

And yes, like doc said, watch the credits to the end, but pay close attention to what a certain character is holding before they roll ;-)

 

I'm officially addicted to the Horde mode now. So much so that it's keeping me away from the brilliant campaign.

Anyone know if there's clinic out there to help with this?

 

^ lol, I'm paying the price of Horde today, stayed up way past my old bodies bedtime last night smashing Horde mode, made it to 40 before we called it a day, poor planning on our behalf with resources caused us to be obliterated then without any defence.

I played some Horde with Codger earlier, so much fun and laughs with just the two of us and we done quite well.

What's a bit disapointing is when joining public games is the amount of people that quit out. Rarely I've I been past Wave 10 with everybody still in there. Of course we all get called away from a game or maybe people lag out but not this much. I noticed
when I set a private game up with Codger there's an option to put a penalty on early quitting, why this not in public games.

I guess it could be that people don't want to try and go for Wave 50 but then why not have an optiion in Horde when you can pick a limit it goes up to? Say 10, 20 etc.

Once my Soldier character is Level 10 I'd like to try for Wave 50 on the highest level but will have to try and arrange getting a few friends to do it, at least we will know they will stay in the game.

That's my only gripe with the game, otherwise it's just fantastic.

 

I agree with Genchy, the difficulty gradually increases but gets more fun as a result. I'm playing solo on Hard.

Actually, I didn't really start enjoying the game till the beginning of Act III. Fighting robots was a repetitive bore.

The game is gorgeous! Lots and lots of visual detail.

 

^I actually loved the intro levels with the robots, it gave off that bright, new world feeling and I used that very accurate single shot 'scout rifle' type of gun which was loads of fun! It also gave you a chance to experiment with just about all the new
weapons added to the game and I was constantly thinking 'when are we going to see the swarm!'

@Lofty - Unfortunately that's been the culture with horde mode since Gears 3, very rarely do you find a random team that will stick it out to 50. The other night my team was doing so well, didn't wipe on a single wave, finished wave 40 and 3 people left!
I was so gutted.

I can't wait to get into more of this tonight as last night was Destiny night so tonight, it's gears! (wow how many times can I say 'night' in a sentence).

 

The trouble with Horde is it's a big commitment of time to make it to 50 even on normal, you really need to plan a good chunk of time with a group to attempt it.

Does anyone else give the enemies nicknames? We have some that we're called out in a panic at first and seem to have stuck including Gollum(juvies), Dragon Puss (pouncer) and I can't say what we call Guardians on here

Unfortunately I think this quitting early has become a culture on a lot of games. Forza is just one example of another game I've seen it a lot and quite often it's the same GT, if their out in front then all is good, they fall behind then majority of time
they will leave or quit back to lobby. Some just can't take losing.

Back to Gears though. I think as Mark said to get through to wave 50 is a big commitment, time etc so sure I understand people have other more important commitments in life than gaming but I just wish in Horde there was an option to join the mode with a
choice of wave limits, 10, 20 etc

Mark, yep several names. I heard you say Gollum when we played the other day. Me and Codger used a few yesterday, again though nothing I'd repeat on here ;-)

 

i'm not sure if its just me, but hit detection on multiplayer has given me real WTF moments. Active reloads doing 10% damage then getting one banged by someone who had no idea i was behind them etc. Beautiful game though and cant wait to start the story

 

^ yep! Not a good night last night, first was playing Warzone on Gridlock and it was 2v2 was hunkered down covering the boomer and got kicked for idling??? First match as well not happy? Played some horde got to wave 27 and we all got kicked from the
game, the whole team!
