Gears of war 4 (windows 10) doesn't launch

After three days of downloads, I finally launch the game but the server does not start,

I update: Windows, my graphics card (geforce Gtx 1080), I go through the forums, I try all the proposed solutions. (I have the required system requirements )

All I get is a page with the title of the game

This game doesn't work at all !!!

Either you offer me a solution for it to work or I expect a refund.

Error GW400 Gears of War 4 on Windows 10

Hello,

I have been trying to play gears of war 4 on PC windows 10, I have updated everything as it will not even let you download the game without the updates installed. Now when I go to launch the game I am getting this Error GW400 (i will post the full error
at the bottom). I have directx 12 installed on my computer I have done dxdiag to confirm this. I also checked with nvidia and my graphics cards support directx 12.

This means that the graphics card in your Windows 10 device does not meet the minimum requirements. Your graphics card must support DirectX 12 (Feature Level 11).

Solution
Upgrade your system's graphic card to meet the minimum requirements for the game and try launching the game again.

It doesn't start, Just shows the Gears of War 4 logo and does nothing.

None of that is correct in any way. Corrupted files will automatically repair themselves with a game from Microsoft Store when the app (in this case game) is verified before every launch. You would see a download bar on screen if anything were corrupt and
it would be redownloading these corrupted files automatically. Where do you guys get your information?

The true fix is as follows, and a few other things for you too that will help in the future.

Log out of your account in microsoft store.

Instead of signing in as your saved account, choose to add/use a different/new account.

Now, use the normal email and password you usually use in this option, instead of it auto logging you in and it will reset the cache on your normal account. (You will not lose anything).

After you are logged into store, forget it for now, close it out and go to the search bar on windows 10 (or the run box) and type services.msc and hit enter.

Under the local tab, scroll down until you find Superfetch.(This is a pro tip not a Gears issue) Right click and select properties so you can just Disable Superfetch. Your machine is already faster.

Now scroll to find the Gears of war 4 problem which IS WindowsPushToInstallService

It will be set to Manual or may even be Diabled.

Right click and select Properties.

Set the option to ONLY Automatic.

Click Ok and then Apply. Do Not Forget to click Apply.

Close it all out, then restart your pc.

After restarting your pc, and all the way back at the desktop, (This is another pro tip) Sign your user OUT of windows 10 (right click windows icon and sign out user) and log back into Windows 10 again so lockapp.exe is not running in the background on
your gpu (you need to do that every restart anyways because of lockapp.exe running on your gpu.This is an unrelated bug that can and will effect performance on your machine). Lockapp.exe is another program that is bugged, not relevant to the Gears of War 4
issue, same as Superfetch.

Boot up Gears of War 4 and give it a moment to start, it will. Be patient. Next start-up will be faster.

This WILL fix the issue.

To note, disabling superfetch is not related to the Gears Of War 4 issue, but it WILL bog your system down so I added that solution for you. It will not have any adverse effect on your system.

Signing out then back in on your user account for Windows 10 solves the issue of lockapp.exe running in the background on your gpu that you probably had no idea was happening.

It took me less than 5 minutes to actually find what the problem was instead of reposting things that do not work.

Someone should forward this to the dev team of GOW4 so they can forward this to Microsoft then someone can write the simple patch to fix this issue from the Microsoft side as it is a Windows 10 issue.
