Gears of War 4 Elite Controller Costs $200

During its E3 2016 press conference, Microsoft announced that
it will release aGears of War 4 edition of the customizable Xbox
One Elite controller. The original Elite controller already costs a lot; it'll run you $150 because of its
many custom options. Today, Microsoft revealed that
the Gears 4 edition will cost you even more: You'll have to shell out $200 to get it.

Although special-edition controllers often run a few dollars more, this is a pretty unusual premium on the base controller's price. But it does look really good: it'll have several Gears-themed d-pads, thumbsticks,
and paddles. As with the base Elite controller, you'll be able to change trigger sensitivity and button mapping from the Xbox accessories app.

I like the JD controller and the gears elite controller looks nice but 200 bucks wow.

 

XBOX ONE S DELAYED!!!!

As long as I get my Gears of War 4 themed Xbox One S and Gears of War 4 themed Xbox Elite Controller in October on release I will be happy.

 

$200.00? That's a bargain! I'm going to buy 12 of them...and don't even like Gears Of War.

$200??? How about $250 in Canada..... how will we ever heat our igloo's up here with silly prices like that???

 

OMG, I already pre ordered 8 of them! And another 15 for christmas!

 

The funny thing is to me $200 does sound cheap as that's the cost of a standard elite controller, I bet it will be more like $350 in Aus.... Still I might pick up 4 of them so I can be matching with all my non existent friends that come over and play couch
coop with me.

 

It's a good thing that it is not required to play the game. This is MS testing price points...

 

Just imagine all those people who bought an Elite controller finding out that they're not compatible with the Xbox Scorpio when it comes out. Last time I checked, the 360 controllers didn't work with the One. So Ya never
know...

 

I get the impression that they're going to make sure things are more compatible in the future after reading the following;

Taking things one step further, Xbox has ensured its new controllers will work with console, PC and tablet.

“Back from the 360 controller, you could successfully use it on PC, but it was always wired because the wireless was different inside the Xbox and PC,” he said.

“So we said ‘PC has support from Bluetooth, so let’s add it to the exiting controller so when you buy it will keep the same wireless experience on all devices’.

“It fits with the strategy of taking your games with you, your friends with you on Live and now your controller can come with you too.”

That looks really ***, but I don't think I would ever spend so much on a controller. Mostly because I am really hard on controllers.

 

Everyone does understand
"controllers" costing $200 plus have already existed among a enthusiast market demographic for years? This is nothing really new, maybe just too "hardcore" for most "casual" Players?

 

^^ Good point.Remember that massive controller that came with Steel Battalion (I think) on the original xbox?

That thing was a beast & cost a fair bit.You could only use it on that one game I think.

 

There was also a build your own version of that beast. I always thought that was a little too much.
