Gears of war 3 "please insert disk"

Good evening

I'm having a problem with the insert disk (0x803f8001)

I have purchased GoW 3 from a third party site (g2a), It redeemed fine.

i have installed the game and uninstalled it numerous times with no luck

i have done a hard reset also but no luck

I can't see why a digital download game would as for a disk to be inserted (if i had the disk i would of just installed it and saved myself £8)

any light on how to fix this?

Black ops 3 wont initialize

We have had our 1 and Black ops 3 since Christmas. We have never had any problems until recently. My son went to play and he got an error saying that we needed to insert disk. Well the disk had been in the entire time. For some reason when we put black ops 3 in it wont even recognize the disk. Madden16 and Deminsions both work just fine but our BO3 disk acts like its not even being read. Live is working good our internet is fine the disk itself has no scratches or smuges. I'm at a loss as to what we need to do. Please help, I deleted the game from the console to try and reinstall it but the game disk doesn't read at all.

These are the stept to take (if these won't work, contact official support):

Since methods 4 and 5 didn't work for you, try the other methods.

Method 1: Power cycle Xbox one
Doing a simple power cycle can help fix the issue and take you out of trouble. Some users have reported that they were able to fix the issue by just doing a power cycle. You can follow below steps to do a power cycle.

On your Xbox one, press and hold down the white power button for 10 seconds. The console should get turned off.

Now unplug the power cord and wait for 10 seconds.

Plug back in the power cord

Turn the console back on.

Try to do the update again.

You are the lucky one if this fixes the issue for you.

Method 2: Check Xbox Live Status
This error could sometimes appear if all services are not up and running. Checking Xbox Live status can give you an idea if the services are up or not.

Check Xbox live status. You might notice few alerts. If you see alerts, wait for all the services to be up and running. Once all are up, you can try the game again.

Method 3: Game is downloaded by some other family member
Sometimes the issue could just be a simple sign in issue. Check if some other family member had downloaded the game and he is not currently signed in. If this is the case, ask the family member who has downloaded the game to sign in. Once the person is signed
in, set the Xbox one as the Home Console for the user who downloaded it.

Method 4: Hard Reset
Few users have reported that doing a Hard Reset fixed the issue for them. Restoring Xbox one to factory default setting will erase all accounts, setting, saved games and home Xbox association. Once you connect with the service, your Xbox live will automatically
sync with your console. Anything that is not synced with Xbox Live, will be lost. In order to reset the console to factory default setting, follow below steps.

Press the left button on the directional pad to open the Menu to the left of the screen.

Scroll down to gear icon and select “All Settings” by pressing A button

Select System -> “Console Info & Updates”

Select Reset Console

You will be asked if you want “Reset and remove everything” or “Reset and Keep my games & apps”

Select “Reset and remove everything“

The Xbox one will be reset to Factory Default Settings. Once Xbox live is synced with your console, try the game again. It should work.

Method 5: Reinstall the Game
Some users have reported that reinstalling the game has fixed this issue for them.

To reinstall the game, Hit the X on both searches in the app store and then reinstall the game

This seems no longer to be true.

Games purchased from other regions will play if physical disk, but any connected download codes will not work.

There are issues for example with the Gears of War 1-3 codes (included with Gears of War collection) and the Fallout 3 codes (that came with Fallout 4).

Chances are it's the new anti-piracy gizmo (or new disk format)

My copy of Forza 4, Gears of War 3 does the same, but does stop spinning the disk are a minute or two.

From the looks of the case it is a brand new game case as with disk. It's a standard edition of gears of war 4 and it says on the case next to the PEGI rating that it has four bonus games and those being gears of war 1-3 and judgement as little icons.

I just bought the 1TB xbox console with the Gears of War and my actually can with the gears of war disk encluded.
