Gears of War 2 on Xbox One crashes on black screen

Ever since my friend and I used splitscreen on multiplayer, any time I get to the main menu the game freezes and turns black with a buzzing sound.

I love Gears 2 and now I can’t play it! I’ve seen threads about getting your account corrupted but I hope that’s not the case.

I hope my friend and I aren’t screwed from playing Gears 2!

Can anybody help fix this problem?

Sounds like a buzz crash,

I would suggest a power cycle/ clear your cache.

As mentioned above, for this particular issue we recommend uninstalling the game, removing
your profile, power down your console, unplug the console and router for five full minutes, adding your profile again, and see if the issue persists if you log in first.

These steps should help you with this issue by clearing the cache and refreshing your profile on the console.
