Gears 5 redemption code

If it says it's already redeemed, then it may either mean that your dad might have redeemed it on his console, may be by mistake, or the code was incorrect. Ask your dad to contact the reseller from where he purchased the code, or it's purchased from Microsoft
ask him to contact support or you can contact support yourself at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/

I would also find out if this was a brand new console when he bought it just in case. Possible someone had the system already and redeemed the code

First of check out the Find your games and add-ons on Xbox One support page.

I would say do a search in the Microsoft/ Xbox Store on the console. If you have redeemed the code, it should give you an option to install it.

Although gears 4, i hope, is just building up to gears 5 i felt it lacked a bit in the story telling of the first 3. I hope gears 5 will be its redemption to get it back on track with the first 3.
