    Gears 5 not working anymore (Failed to open Descriptor File)


    Hi,

    I tried to play Gears 5 after some days and I got the error message. (Failed to open descriptor file '../../GearGAme/GearGame.uproject). I tried to fix it with the tick of changing the system Region to force and update but it is not working anymore.

    Keep getting launch error when trying to play Gears 5 on PC

    That's where a separate anti cheat file is for me. Though I have my gears files there as well (but I can't open the anti cheat file listed within the gears program.)

    Hi Paradox,

    I see you are having a bit of trouble with Gears 5, try doing this to see if it helps so you can get the game installed and working;

    try checking here to see if anything related to Gears 5 shows up and delete everything; To actually uninstall the game and delete it completely, go to your Settings, System, Storage, Temporary Files, and it’s listed
    in Delivery Optimization Files.

    The network settings in the xbox cosole companion app works, the issues is just with gears 5, the error message is this one:

    error : error, fail to connect xbox live, try later.

    Thanks for the fast reply. However this is one of the first links I had looked at. My Windows 10 recognizes it as an "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) and does not install a driver for it.
