gears 5 Class XP?

So far I've unlocked 5 extra classes and the standard package. There's nothing that I really want to use unlock gear for but at the same time I'm hesitant to use any of the double XP rewards.

I got all 5 classes first and then the packages as they came available. I did unlock gear once and then nothing but Double XP. I found unlock gear to be a bit of a waste in comparison. The only thing I'm hooked on in this game is the Specialist package,
which if I recall, can't be unlocked with unlock gear.

My recommendation is to start with the custom classes. You don't lose them when you prestige again & it helps give you a greater degree of variety in choosing classes for a match (you start with 5, but can end with 10). Sure, you may not get double XP /
weapon XP or gear, but the XP is temporary & the gear only goes so far in terms of customization. If you decide to unlock gear, I would recommend unlocking the perks, starting with the perks you unlock at higher levels 1st. You can practically use up all of
your prestige tokens (or close to it) unlocking all 5 additional classes & the 9 additional perks. Once you do that, you can then unlock the best weapon in each category (SMG, shotgun, AR, LGM, & sniper rifle). That's 19 of your 20 prestige tokens.
