Gears 4 and 5 on PC Splitscreen Co-op Controller Issues

I purchased Gears 4 and 5 on PC to play splitscreen coop with my son. However, on Gears 5 both controllers control player one and neither controller moves player 2. Player one is and player 2 comes up as Rahziell66(1). There are similar issues with Gears 4 as well. On Gears 4 both controllers move but both shoot on player 1. We are using Xbox One controllers on a windows PC. I deleted the controllers and reinstalled and still have the issue. I updated the controllers and co-pilot is turned off. Is there any way to fix this issue? I have seen multiple people have this issue but can’t find any solution. We do not have any issues playing two player games on steam. Thank you very much for your help.

Thank you for replying George. That description is for Gears Ultimate. I am playing Gears 4 and Gears 5 on PC. They both have local CO-OP on the campaign. Any idea how to fox the controller issue ?

I don’t have an xbox and that is why I am playing on the PC. So the only way to play this game properly on PC is to have an xbox also ? It doesn’t say that anywhere in the description.

Thank you for your response. The instructions are for how to assign a profile to a controller on the xbox one console. I am playing on a windows PC. Is there a way to assign a profile to a controller on a PC? Thank you again.

Hello again, the PC version has only Online co-op, meaning that each will have to play on their own PC, if it were on the console it offers local Xbox co-op (2-2) and

Online co-op (2-2).

Thank you for your response. Good to know that you were able to create a profile for reach controller. At this point, since the issue is still persisting, I would recommend for you to Submit a request – Gears of War to help you further with this concern. They may be able to provide us some additional steps that I may have missed or an alternative way or information about this issue.
