    I am so fed up of typing the same thing over and over again so please excuse the formatting.

    My friends all recieved their codes in the initial wave of codes, me and my friends all purchased the game the same day so this struck me as odd. I contacted support, not to rant and rage as to where my codes where but just to ensure I qualified for the promotion
    ....and they did, they ensured me that I did qualify for the promotion and that I should recieve them by December the 1st.

    Before we carry on, I just want to note that I only bought Gears UE for the BC promotion. I had zero interest in buying or playing Gears of War 1 again until the BC promotion was announced.

    We're on December 1st, i've been waiting patiently. No codes, so I contact support again. I go to chat support, wasn't much use but was again ensured that I did qualify for the promotion. Other than that I was offered no assistance at all.

    I go to twitter, these guys are usually really helpful but all they could do was point me to these forums. I start reading and now it's painfully obvious that they are scanning for qualifying players via achievements then sending the codes out in waves to
    players picked up in the scans.

    This means that I wasn't picked up in the inital scan or any scan since and they've totally missed my gamertag, despite being assured several times that this wasn't the case. I don't even need the codes right now but it's December 1st and i've been directly
    lied to by chat support for several weeks.

    Now the only hope I have of sorting this is by posting on a forum that is completely flooded with the same kind of questions and the promotion ends in a few weeks. My profile clearly shows that I unlocked achievements online and around launch date and the promotion
    is viable in my region (UK) but i'm still totally clueless as to whether this is going to be resolved or not.

    Lied to by support reps!

    You need to return the items with the receipt to wherever you bought them and tell them they are defective. They should be able to exchange them for new items. That's really the only thing you can do, unless you want to send the controllers back to Microsoft
    to be repaired since they fall under warranty.

    If you just bought it it's called a sales receipt. If it's open and you received broken item stores are still doing gift exchanges.

    If you have had a controller and worn the thumb sticks down due to excessive play then haha get with reality dude. One controller is not going to last you a lifetime on ANY system. I go through 3-4 controllers per console cycle since the 80's. You probably
    need a new controller every few years just like everyone else. No controller lasts forever.

    Yeah, can understand your frustration. I hate to say it, but you'll be better off posting this (just copy and paste) into the forum I've linked below. This is a known issue by MS, and they've set up the forum below specifically to help users experiencing
    issues with their codes.

    That will be the final time you need to type anything, as from their a support agent will be able to get you your codes Gear promotion, lied to consistently by chat support only to now find my qualification ... :)

    Its not tied to achievements, but to your profile, so you just need to have played the ultimate edition before the end of this month whilst connected to xbox live to qualify for the codes.

  5. Cheers mate, I did make a post there but this was before I realised that my code should have been sent in the initial wave.

    I have recieved a response over there now and as far as I can tell it's just a generic copy/paste response, no info as to when my codes will arrive or why I haven't been sent the codes just that I have to wait. I've already been going through hoops with
    support for 3 weeks now their only suggestion is to wait?

    I was promised multiple times that I already qualified for the promotion and my codes will be here by Dec 1st.

    This doesn't seem to be the case, if you go and take a look at the forums you linked to. All the mods are clearly checking for achievements and have directly stated to multiple users that the fact they have no achievements

    unlocked is most likely the issue.

    My profile clearly shows I unlocked achievements around launch (25th Aug) btw.

  6. Just another thing to note, the "we have passed your info on and will update here as soon as we know anything" spiel that they are replying with has been going on for two weeks in those forums you linked and as far as I can see no one has recieved their
    codes.

    I have never been directly lied to and messed around like this by Xbox support, I truly don't know how to handle this.

  7. Anyway, I think i'm done. My gold expires in a few days and they can keep the codes and money they got from conning me into buying Gears UE. The codes aren't even an issue anymore, i'm just not prepared to sit and be directly lied to for several weeks only
    to be told that they have no idea what's going on and now and I have to just 'wait'.

    My only assumption here is that the promotion can not be linked directly to achievements. This is simply because you can game share on any given console between multiple accounts. If you have purchased a game and played it first on a different accout this
    may be the reason why you haven't received a code.

    I can appreciate it's hard to wade through those forums right now so basically this seem to be the cookie cutter response.

    "Hey there, (insert username here)! I'm sorry to see that you haven't received your codes yet! I can see from your achievements that you should have got them already. Because of this, I've sent your information up to the right people to look into this for
    us."

    Why directly mention achievements? ..and this isn't just one response, 99% of the responses mods are pretty much this word for word.

    I do game share with my brother but I purchased Gears UE and the achievements are clearly shown on my profile at launch. My brother hasn't even loaded up Gears UE, like me he had no intention of playing it, not like any of this is relevant to the topic because
    neither of us recieved codes.

    Anyway, like I said i'm done. I can't believe i'm still typing about this matter after so long, i've had to talk to chat supports everal times. Make multiple posts here, call xbox support, post on twitter and i'm still absolutely clueless. I have mental
    health issues and this whole ordeal has completely confused me, I don't even know where I stand anymore.

    The only thing I know for a fact is that I should have recieved have recieved my codes in the first wave since I played at launch.

    I can definitely tell you it is not based on achievements. I haven't earned a single achievement in the game, but I got the codes. Most likely, support is mentioning achievements as a way for them to tell that they have played the game and when. But earning
    achievements is not a requirement for the codes.

    As Smwutches mentioned, eligibility is not based off of Achievements. We are using Achievements as a way to verify that you have played the game in order to pass the information off to the appropriate teams.

    Codes are being sent in waves and we don't have specifics to share on which wave you'll be a part of. Codes began to be sent to eligible customers on November 19th, but codes will continue to be sent out on a regular basis through January. While you haven't
    received your code yet, it doesn't mean that you've been forgotten. All code promotions have a turn around time, Gears of War included.

    We appreciate your patience and if you don't receive a code by January please create a new thread and let us know. Thanks!
