Actually another 3 months would have hurt , A LOT. The OP has some vaild points although he put them out there on the ridiculous side. Dismissing his PC doesn't make sense unless it's some of junk running Windows 3 and then I can understand why he listed
the numerous games that run on PC and takes a dump on PS4 and Xbox ONE combined graphically.

I too hope that what we're seeing here is an issue with developers coming to grips with the One's power. I do think that wallet-voting time is coming soon however. Devs need to know that we're not going to accept them "mailing it in" when it comes to the
games on the One and just take whatever they feel like giving us performance-wise.

One thing people don't remember also with the PS3 when it came to multiplatform games was the fact that most games were developed on the 360 and ported to the PS3 without much thought beyond just getting it to run. That's why you had alot of games actually
running better on the 360 than the PS3. Problem is that can swing the other way on us this generation if the PS4 fanbase is large enough for them to softly ignore the One. That's where the wallet-voting comes into play.

Fortunately I have a PC that is more than capable of running the titles I care about (excluding sports ) better than either consoles. Which leads to the other point, as much as I can understand what he's talking about on some points there is really NOTHING
I care about on the Playstation side that would have me give up the functionality of the One. Being able to run my Dynasty modes in sports AND have the TV snapped is a big bonus for me.

 

Lloydy I have bf4 and forza 5 on the xbox one. One runs at 720p upscalled to 1080p and one one at native 1080p. All running on a samsung 50" plasma that has a great picture quality. You know what. The difference is so slight. Yes I will admit there is a
difference. But it's a slight one. Nothing to the point were I go. Oh bf4 just looks so ugly. Your over exaggerating mate. Trying to make it a huge deal when it's not.

 

@LLyoldy 25 Both of you have valid points. He's right, the masses would be hard pressed to see the difference between 1080p and 720p. Go download a movie clip at 720p and 1080p and sit your normal distance and bring in some people who have no idea what you're
about to do and play the same clip on both resolutions and ask if they see the difference. I guarantee that 9 outta 10 people won't tell the difference at all if they are quality clips.

However gamers for one sit much closer to their screens and gamers are the types to look for those things. Now if you can pull a 900p with no jaggies I'm confident that nobody will be rumbling about it. That looks just as good AS LONG AS their aren't any
jaggies. Even a 720p without jaggies will get the job done but once you start seeing jaggies it really kills the visuals.

The only thing I can tell you, OP: many of us are frustrated, but now we have no choice but to wait for Microsoft to fix what should have never been broken in the first place.

 

I dunno I'm not frustrated at all. Ive had more fun on the x1 than I have on the 360 in a long time. Ive seen the competition it doesn't seem more powerful from what I've seen. I'm very happy with my x1.

I happen to sit six feet from a 55" TV. When seated, I get the full benefits of 1080p. When I stand up and move closer to the TV (3-4ft), it becomes obvious that the TV is a lower resolution than my computer monitor, but when seated that isn't an issue because
I move my head back another two feet and the grain disappears. I am an exception, not the rule. My friends, my relatives - they don't position their TVs anywhere near close enough to gain the benefits of 1080p. At 10', one would have to own a 60" TV to see
some benefit to 1080p, and a 75" TV to receive the full benefits of 1080p.

People have to be sitting on top of their TVs for 1080p to be of benefit. At 10 (hence the name, "10' interface")', 1080p vs 720p is a non-issue for a 55" TV.

 

I have both next gen system and I am a long time xbox user,I'd almost say I was a xbox fanboy.i am in complete agreement with the op I won't put fancy bells and whistles on this I will use my x1 for netflix bluray etc it will be for a handful of exclusives
like halo quantum break etc.it in no way has the same appeal as my ps4 the games don't look as good it's over complicated games take a eternity to install and it just doesn't feel right

As I said above the resolution really doesn't matter as far as 1080p vs 720p what really matters is the jaggies in whatever resolution. I think it's safe to say a 720p game with NO jaggies trumps a 1080p jagged-to-death picture everyday.

Upscaled content looks like hot trash imo. I can see it easy and it remains very notable in much longer viewing distances.
