Gaming while Live is down

How about implementing a tokening system with games purchased online or downloaded through GamePass that would allow us to play for a few hours even when Live is having issues (which seems to be more common recently, although my experience is anecdotal)?
Each game could have a token counter that reaches out periodically to the server to ensure ownership, but it would allow the game to be played for a few hours before it expires (denying access until a re-connection with Live). Sure would go a long way towards
ameliorating some of this angst if we could still play our single-player games...

Thanks Smwutches. I bought a new console recently and did not change my new one to my home console. That took care of the issue!

As long as you have your console set as your Home console, you should still be able to play the games you own while offline.

XBOX live is having some down time right now. They have been down since yesterday. I was booted while playing an online game and checked the status of live and the website says they are down and working on the issue. No idea when they will be back up.

Yes it is normal. Because the original games had there own live service (which was long ago shut down) you do not have access to live or any of the live services you are used to now while that game is running.

I had a thread about it but it doesn't work on all games sadly. I couldn't log in but my wife could from the same console after doing that so Unity wouldn't work nor dragon age inquisition. Thanks for keeping it front page though
