    Gaming Services will not update

    I have been playing Halo Infinite Multiplayer on my PC through steam.

    Now that the campaign is out I am trying to download the version through the xbox app on my PC. I own it through GamePass Ultimate. However, it says my gaming services need to be updated. No matter what I try, I can't update them. It keeps saying something has gone wrong on our end.

    I have seen other threads about this online, but no solutions have worked. Please help!

    Gaming Services will not update

    I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

    Let's Uninstall Xbox App & Microsoft Store by following the steps below

    1. Open the Windows 10 Search Bar, and type in PowerShell.

    2. Right-click the PowerShell app and click “Run as administrator”.

    3. Type the following command and press the Enter key:

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage

    Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices" -recurse

    Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet" -recurse

    Get-AppxPackage *windowsstore* | Remove-AppxPackage

    Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

    4. Wait until the process is finished. It should only take a few seconds to run.

    5. Type exit and press the Enter key to exit PowerShell.

    Once done, RESTART your PC.

    To reinstall the Microsoft store :

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Windows PowerShell (Admin)

    At the command prompt, type the following then hit Enter:

    Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    Restart your PC, open PowerShell as admin again, and enter

    “start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN”

    The Microsoft Store will open and ask to install Gaming Services, install. Then try playing the game again.

    Cant Update Gaming Services

    Hi there welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. I suggest you try these basic troubleshooting steps!

    Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

    Click Check for Updates;

    Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

    Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

    Then try this:

    Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

    After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

    Then do the same for the Xbox app:

    Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

    After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

    If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command, then you're going to open the gamepass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again :

    In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.

    gaming services wont update

    I had this issue around a year ago. I could tell you all the 10 steps I followed to solve it, unfortunately what helped me to solved this was to restart my PC as it comes here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/rec...

    In the part of Windows 10 click on "Reset this PC" these instructions will help you to solve the problem, you can even leave your important files!
