  1. Gaming Services says it is not installed when it is,

Hello, I am running into an issue on my 64 bit Windows 11 home PC (version 22H2), where whenever I try to launch, download, or update any games through the Xbox app, I get an error saying that I need to install gaming services, saying "Gaming Services installs and runs games on your PC. The software may have been removed or require an update. Download now to play your games" . This is where I get confused, as I already have gaming services installed, and have tried to go through the official Microsoft support, where I could only get in contact with XBox support people, and not PC specialists.

I have tried various trouble shooting methods, such as restarting the device, repairing and resetting Gaming Services, repairing and resetting the XBox app, and going to the microsoft store to check if there is any updates for either the Xbox app or Gaming Services (which there have been none). No solutions I have found on the internet have worked, and I have had to resort to other platforms to play my games, such as Steam. This issue is particularly annoying as this is stopping me from playing games that I have purchased for use on my PC, and now I am unable to do anything with them. This issue has persisted for about 3 months now, with no changes

    Thankyou in advance,

    Josh

    :)

Gaming Services says it is not installed when it is,

Since you've already tried several troubleshooting methods without success, here are some additional steps you can try:

    1. Check for Windows updates: Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, issues with apps can be resolved by installing the latest system updates.
    2. Verify system date and time: Ensure that your computer's date and time settings are configured correctly. This might seem insignificant, but synchronization problems can affect the proper functioning of some applications.
    3. Check security settings: Verify if your Windows security settings are not blocking or interfering with Games Services or the Xbox app. Antivirus, firewall, or other security programs might prevent the proper functioning of games.
    4. Uninstall and reinstall Games Services and the Xbox app: Sometimes, a corrupted installation can cause problems. Try uninstalling Games Services and the Xbox app completely, then download the latest versions from the official Microsoft website and reinstall them.
    5. Check for connection issues: Verify your Internet connection. Connectivity problems can affect the Xbox app's ability to access Games Services.
    6. Verify account settings and permissions: Ensure you are logged in with the correct account and have the proper permissions to run the games.

Gaming Services says it is not installed when it is,

I'm sorry Fernando, but that link does not help in the slightest, as it is quite literally what I used to make it to this site to post my question. I have already looked through other peoples posts to see if my question has been asked before only to find them hard to follow, and not relevant

    sincerely,

Gaming Services says it is not installed when it is,

Thank you for the fast response,

    1. Windows is now updating, although previous updates have not fixed anything.

    2. I have verified system date and time, all seems to be normal

    3. where in Windows Security would I be able to find what potential settings would interfere with Gaming Services and the Xbox App? I have no external antivirus installed, and am using built in Windows firewall systems all set to default.

    4. As apart of my previous troubleshooting measures I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall both the Xbox App and Gaming services, however, the option to uninstall Gaming Services is greyed out for an unknown reason, no other apps have this, apart from built in windows apps which are necessary for windows to run properly.

    5. My internet and connection are working perfectly fine, as I can access games from other platforms, such as the aforementioned Steam.

    6. The games I am trying to run are free off of the Xbox store, which should mean that I am able to run them. I am also apart of a family use of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which has had very minor issues which i can not remember.

    Thanks once again

    Josh

Gaming Services says it is not installed when it is,

Thanks for providing more information about the troubleshooting steps you've taken so far. Since you've already tried various methods and the issue persists, here are some additional suggestions to consider:

    1. Check for driver updates: Ensure that your graphics card drivers and other essential drivers are up to date. Outdated or incompatible drivers can sometimes cause issues with gaming apps. Visit the manufacturer's website of your graphics card and other hardware to download and install the latest drivers.

    2. Run the Windows System File Checker (SFC) and Deployment Imaging Service and Management Tool (DISM): These built-in tools can help repair corrupted system files that might be affecting the Xbox app and Games Services. Open Command Prompt as an administrator, then run the following commands one by one:

    sfc/scannow

    dism/online/cleanup-image/restorehealth

Restart your PC after these scans complete.

    3. Create a new Windows user profile: It's possible that your user profile has become corrupted, leading to issues with the Xbox app and Games Services. Try creating a new user profile on your PC and see if the problem persists when using the app under the new profile.

    4. Temporarily disable Windows Firewall and antivirus: While you mentioned not having any third-party antivirus installed, try disabling the Windows Firewall and any other security software temporarily. Sometimes, even the built-in Windows Firewall can interfere with certain apps, including Games Services.

    5. Check event logs for errors: Open the Event Viewer on your PC (search for "Event Viewer" in the Start menu), and look for any critical or error messages related to the Xbox app or Games Services. These logs may provide additional insights into the problem.

    6. Reset Windows Store cache: Type "wsreset" in the Start menu search bar, then right-click on "wsreset" and select "Run as administrator." This will reset the Windows Store cache, which might resolve any issues related to app downloads and updates.
