gaming offline - thoughts, comments?

HI,

Recently I have had and issue installing an alpha build update.

Could not get past error 8B05000F.

I then chose to stay offline but found my xbox to be unusable because it was offline.

any one has suggestions for games that can be played offline on the xbox?

anything else that the xbox can be used for while offline?

I do yes, I have a steam account and all that Jazz. But I can play and access my games offline, Buy them in store then connect them to steam all without the need to go online. And I really want to pick up Rome Total War 2. Plus PC is largely backwards compatible
(can play a lot of pretty old games)

Every platform has it's strengths and weaknesses I just see more weaknesses in the One than positives.

Then I am going to invest in a new PC gaming rig.

One Original Xbox, 3 Xbox 360's (RROD) and one Xbox360 Slim. Roughly 150 + games purchased across those consoles including GOD and arcade games and an Xbox live subscription for the best part of five years.

Well I guess I made a poor long term investment and it's time to cut my loses. When the Xbox came out and I played Halo:CE for the first time I thought I would be buying Xbox's for generations. Oh well.

As long as the xbox one is set as your home xbox and you go into offline mode while still connected to the internet by going into settings and network settings and go offline you should be able to play your games.

The only exception to that is the games that are online only games.

When your Xbox is offline you can:

• Watch TV (though you need to be online for OneGuide listings)
• Sign in to your profile (if you've signed in online before)
• Change console settings (except for profile and family settings; content controls remain in place while offline)
  
• Play games (provided you've set this as your home Xbox or have a game disc)
• Save game clips and screenshots
• Earn achievements (however, there's limited offline space for game captures and achievements, so you should go online every so often to sync them)
