Gaming monitor and hdmi

I have a Xbox series S and I am thinking of buying a ASU’s Tuf gaming monitor 1080p IPs, 165htz.

What hdmi cable would I have to purchase as the monitor has hdmi 1.4 SO what would I get on my screen would it be 120htz as I’m sure the Xbox is 120htz

No, they will be capable of 120hz over HDMI 2.1 if you have a monitor with HDMI 2.1,

But, as of yet, there are no gaming monitor with HDMI 2.1,

The first gaming monitors to have HDMI 2.1 wont be available until the end of this year to early 2021.

If you're trying to run it off a PC monitor, just plug the HDMI cord into the HDMI port on the monitor and plug in the monitor to an outlet.

To run 360 games on PC, buy and download them off of Steam.

Hi AndrewKennan. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

You can use the cable included with your Xbox, it is HDMI 2.1 but HDMI is backwards compatible.

In theory, you should be able to get 120Hz, but not all monitors support high refresh rate over HDMI. Some only offer higher than 60Hz when using DisplayPort. I recommend checking this on Asus's website or contacting their support team for more information.

The monitor is a 1440 144hz Monitor with HDMI 2.1 which is compatible for 1440p 144hz which is the Native resolution.

Your Monitor only uses HDMI 2.0,

There are no Monitor's available as of yet that supports HDMI 2.1,

The very first Monitor to support HDMI 2.1 ( The World's First Monitor to have HDMI 2.1 ) won't be released until the end of December if it doesn't get delayed and that's a 4K 144hz Monitor.

That monitor doesn't have HDMI 2.1...it has HDMI 2.0 but that makes no difference as it is a 1440p monitor, not 4k.
