    Gaming headset vs. studio headphones


    Hello,

    I am considering purchasing a set of gaming headphones. I am looking to buy a new or used set of Turtle Beach or equivalent for around $30. But, is it worth it to invest in them if I already have a set of Audio Technica ATH-M50's? Will the audio quality
    be better if I get a dedicated headset within that price range? I don't mind the lack of a mic since I don't game online.

    Cheap headset

    Sorry if this is already covered somewhere but the search function here is terrible.

    I am looking into some entry level gaming headphones strictly for household noise reduction. We are NOT hardcore gamers. That being said, I found 2 on ebay that I have researched and believe confirmed do indeed function on the xbox one s. Which mic is
    better? Consider for younger children - 4,7,and 10. If anyone has useful feedback on either of these i would greatly appreciate it.

    The main appeal of gaming headsets are the in built mic, design and comfort. As for sound quality, it depends on the type of Turtle Beach Headset you are buying. Personally, I think your current Audio Technica ATH-M50's are good enoughGaming headset vs. studio headphones :)

    My vote -- studio headphones for solid build quality. Then, buy a 3rd party boom mike. My 2 cents...

    XBOX One S Controller 3.5mm Jack.

    Once the headphones are connected, double-tap the guide button on the controller, and navigate to the bottom for headset settings.

    You should find an adjustable headset volume setting. That will be the game volume in your headphones.

    Please note that audio will still play from the TV even while headphones are connected to the controller. You can just mute your TV volume while using the headphones.

    I assume I'm wrong about this being Bluetooth vs. WiFi. I also left out the Microsoft wireless headset, which makes both controller and headset wireless. However, the wireless controller has a physical jack which can be used for wired phones. Of course,
    this is easily tested as I did with 3 different headphones. The most amusing is my backup phones which predate everything - they are 30 years old. Phones tried were AKG, Paradigm and Sony. So, my question is still whether third-party headset/headphones
    can pick up the wireless broadcast that is already used between console and controller?
