gaming headset mic not working with xbox one S

Xbox One S five months old and headset mic stopped working. Thought it might be mic/headset so bought new one and mic won't work. Trouble shot with Microsoft support, had internet provider change setting on NAT type to open, tried headset on different
device and mic worked, replaced controller, replaced console and mic still doesn't work. With Microsoft support help reset every possible setting in account and mic still does not work. Support is out of ideas. Does anyone in the community have any ideas
or has experienced this issue? Thanks

Xbox One Headset Adapter Problems

I have a turtle beach px21 headset and purchased the xbox one headset adapter. The stereo sound is coming through really well, but the mic isn't working with it. Is this a known issue or is my headset mic not compatible with the xbox one?

 

Steelseries H Wireless microphone not working!

I have recently purchased an Xbox One S. But I found out that my h wireless headset mic isn't working at all when I hooked it up with the console. And even with the cable plugged into the controller it's still not working at all which defeated the whole
purpose of a wireless headset.

Is there a way to set up the headset in a way so both my audio and mic work without buying another audio adapter for the controller?

Xbox one stereo headset have been attempted it could be that that specific headset is not supported by the console. There is some compatibility information on our website (Xbox.com)

Hi. Thanks for responding. The headset which worked for the first 5 months was a BUTFULAKE Gaming Headset SL-300.
You can hear through the headset but the mic stopped working (can still hear though). We then purchased a Turtle Beach Ear Force XO Three headset; can hear through the headset but mic doesn't. Don't know if this is true but son says when moving/tampering with
the mic others can hear the noise that creates but when my son speaks into the mic others cannot hear him.

No, have not been told that was necessary. Why has support not said this? Are you sure that will resolve the problem?

We received a new console today which updated when we launched. I was asking if the adapter was necessary and if so, why phone and store support have not mentioned. Please explain.

 

No,the adapter is not necessary (I don't use it on my personal console). The usual troubleshooting would be to refer to third party but I had the same issue happen to me so I had that insight. Did it work?

 

have not consulted 3rd party, no tech support from original headset folks today. interestingly, when I reposition the mic, on the screen you can see that that movement/noise is recognized/visible, just no audio. i've made an appt to take back to store
tomorrow and have them troubleshoot. thanks
