Gaming Headset as Sole Audio device

Hello gang,

I am a newbie to the Xbox way of life. I am blind, and therefore don't have much of a need for a television (my television upstairs is an old one with an analog connection, so the Xbox One won't work with it). My question is this: can the headset be the
sole device for audio output, or do I really need to buy a new TV with HDMI support?

Xbox One Wireless headset

I agree with wireless headsets, but to take the concept a bit further in detail. Using bluetooth to connect to any sort of headsets. A possible small blue tooth transmitting device that is placed into the controller allowing any headset that is bluetooth
capable to turn into your favorite gaming headset. I have these awesome Sol Republic Headsets that use bluetooth and Id love to be able to use them for gaming.

Your headset won't work with Xbox. You have a PC headset.

The headset I found is a PC headset with a separate mic and line audio cable.

The mic and audio need to be together on one cable.

It looks like the G233 G933 G633 state specifically - Works with PC, Console, and Mobile devices

For best results, then yes you will have to at best buy a PC monitor that supports 1080p. If you are talking about the headset that comes with the system, then no that can not be used as the sole device for audio output. You will have to at least by the
Xbox One Stereo Headset. However, if you can swing it I would go for the Turtle Beach 500X Stealth headset as they are surround sound, have the mic monitoring so you do not yell. So yes for best results buy a monitor or TV that has 1080p HDMI support and
a nice surround sound headset.

The setting is in your audio settings for sound output. If you go into settings for sounds and devices you should be able to find it pretty easily. The option is there regardless if you are connected to your headset or not, unlike the chat mixer slider which
is solely dependent on having a headset attached before you can toggle.

If you’re headset/headset+microphone are plugged into your laptop as an audio capture device, then how are you supposed to hear the game volume and chat?

Hi There,

Its possible that your chat/communication device is separate to your game/desktop audio, my Steelseries headset does this as well. What you may need to do is in OBS studio is add an additional audio device and select the communication device. This would
allow you to stream both game audio and chat audio separately and set them to different volumes.
