Gaming-Bar won't show up

Hey,

I have a problem. If I press WIN + G there is no bar for recording my desktop showing up. I need some help here.

Game Bar Won't Pop Up

I am playing Star Trek Online and the Game Bar wont pop up. I used it twice in the game already, but it will no longer show no matter how many times I hit Win + G. The game recently went through an update, and I did close the game without properly stopping
a recording. Could any of these be the cause? How can I remedy this issue so I can continue recording STO?

Game bar won't come up

Hi. Whenever I play Minecraft, My game bar usually won't come up with win+g. I want to take screenshots.

After I create a new world it usually works for a few minutes but then can't get the bar to come up anymore. Anyone else have this issue? What is causing it?

In the right hand pane, check if you see this exact item:

{EDC0FE71-98D8-4F4A-B920-C8DC133CB165}

If so, double click that and set its value to:

%USERPROFILE%\Videos\Captures

If you do not see that in the right hand pane, right click in an empty part of the right hand pane and choose New - 'Expandable String Value'

Paste this as its name:

{EDC0FE71-98D8-4F4A-B920-C8DC133CB165}

Then double click that new string and set its value as:

%USERPROFILE%\Videos\Captures

Close the Registry Editor and restart your PC.

Let's try to reset your Xbox Game Bar in the attempt of fixing this issue, given that you can record, but it simply won't list your Captures. Follow these steps:

1. Open Settings (Windows 10 app).

2. Go to Applications.

3. On that list, select the Xbox Game Bar, and then select Advanced Options.

4. Go to Reset, and then press the Reset button.

5. Restart your PC.

6. Check if the Game Bar is now listing your captures correctly.

On a different Microsoft Community post, as posted by Galagast (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...), you can fix the issue by following the steps presented by that user to fix your issue:

1. Open Regedit (search for the Registry Editor in the Start Menu)

2. Go to this Key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

3. Replace the value with this:%USERPROFILE%\Videos\Captures

4. Close the Registry Editor and restart your PC.

5. After restarting, I opened up the Game Bar (Win+G) and check if the issue is solved.
