Ahhhhh Genchy. That's so nice.... And if you like party games. You should get the Jackbox games. You can play with more people and they can be hilarious.

 

Been with the Mrs 15 years now.... It's a bit late for her to take a dislike to my hobby lol.

But seriously, she has never had a problem with it. As long as she gets to watch her soaps she doesn't care what I get up to.

Nearly 17 years with the Mrs and as long as she gets to watch her soaps and sing song/talent/jungle type shows she's happy. Plus, because she's up at 5am most mornings she beds it at 10pm, so if I whack my Xbox on I won't be 'mithering' her for a bit of
the other lol!!!

 

This is my last post, my mrs red genchys post and said I am hers, and only hers, and while gaming is fine, this is unacceptable and I now have to stop.....gutted.

 

@MA71LDA. Lol, that's so funny. Your home life sounds exactly like mine.... We must be some of the lucky few.

 

@Goatsnatcher. Yes we are! But like myself, I'm sure you earn your gaming stripes.

 

I flipped to Xbox for a guy lol nowadays my cat is my sidekick and he usually enjoys sleeping through my gaming sessions

Wow Gench... I had no idea how you felt. I mean my wife has always been pretty cool and supportive of my hobbies, gaming included, but... how about we not tell her this? K? 'Cause
our 23rd anniversary is coming next month and I'd like to celebrate it without her making awkward comments like "So... what kind of plans do you and this... Genchy... have for your anniversary"?

 

Now I'm reminded of story regarding a N.E.S. and my first girlfriend...

Was watching my Grandmothers house for the weekend and she brought over a N.E.S. and a box of games; it was from her parents attic from one of her older brothers. After hooking it up and trying a few games, settled on Dragon Warrior 4...this was the beginning
of the end of our short relationship.

After about 4 hours of playing this AWESOME game, she says,"Are you going to play that game all day, or you want to do something else?". My response was something along the lines of, "I'm good!" (Very smooth right?). After a brief moment she asks if taking
a shower would be alright; sure, sure, whatever (Can't she see I'm playing?!). Remember thinking it was a bit odd wanting to take a shower over my Grandma's house at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, but hey, I was saving the world!

Found it very annoying that she was always getting in front of the T.V. with her "shower clothes" on (Get in the shower already!). The last thing I remember saying, was something along the lines of,"Move your butt! You're blocking the screen.", before she
ripped all the cords out, got dressed, and took the N.E.S. home with her. Women...just can't figure them out. Lol. Bought a PS1 shortly after. Why not, didn't have a girlfriend anymore! Lol.

Funny story @D33dles... it was just a story... right!? LOL, of course it was there's no way you'd have... LOL "Move your butt". Heh, games could be paused back then! lol can't be serious...

 

@A Blue Illusion, unfortunately the story is true. I was young and it was the first console that was in the house. Lol. Mind you I've played Mario 3 and stuff over my friends, but the story for Dragon Warrior 4 was very gripping...at least it was at the
time. It came to me later what she had in mind. I have a couple stories involving girls when I was younger...I still crackup...or cry when remembering them. ;-)

I don't know were to stop laughing here, D33dles, Clearly you were a smooth talker at the time.

I used to go to the movies with friends as a kid, however I never went to the movie, I spent the time in the arcades playing pinball and video games and meet them at McDonalds after.

I also have a cat gaming companion, she's the best.

I start work at 11am and go to bed between 2 and 3 am, so the other half has been asleep for ages.

My mum and Dad bought me all the consoles and computers as a child, I really miss my dad.

 

My wife is awesome. She knew all about my hobby when we got together 7 years ago.

I don't go out "with the lads" and get wasted, I work my behind off and I spend as much time with her and the kids as possible.

Most of her understanding comes from the fact that nearly all of my friends are spread out around the country with their familys so xbox time is catching up with mates.

I also have an awesome manager who tries to give me time off in the week when the kids are at school so I get quality 'ME' time! Lol.

If anyone says that xbox live friends arn't real friends, the Best Man at my wedding was someone I met through Gears. Good times!
