    Gaming and your significant other...

How does your girlfriend/wife/boyfriend/husband/inflatable sheep feel about your hobby/lifestyle of playing video games?

Mine was floored upon finding out that I loved them! How could I find enjoyment in such a "creepy" pastime? I didn't live in my parents basement, smoking and eating Cheetos? I showered AND had a career?

Now she even plays a few select games, but honestly looked like she was kicked in the gut (Slapped in the face, if you prefer. Lol.) upon finding out about one of my hobbies.

    Peace, J.R.

    :)

I have gamed since the start although not always had the time or money, so had a gap in between, didn't have a console till i started playing on my sons, and he eventually got a TV in his room.

The mrs doesn't mind as long as it doesn't rule our lives and I can get addicted easily.

She doesn't mind games on her phone but isn't interested in gaming generally unless its with the kids.

But her brothers gadget mad so helped my cause although he doesn't game.

  6. My Wife met me when i worked in a Computer shop in the Early 90's. And having had nearly all consoles and computers.

And a fine setup in my bedroom. So long as i spend quality time with her and the kiddy winkles, it's all good.

We go out, to concerts, shows, etc. As a family. So all is good. It doesn't get in the way

My wife loves to watch me play and to play herself.

Her "Diablo" achievements put most of my mates to shame.

  9. No problem in my house, I take up 2 rooms with consoles and game collections. Every Sunday when we're out shopping, I usually get a "Just buy it"

Everyone that responded seems to have a nice balance going on.

Nice. I have one friend that doesn't game no more. His man cave is now a hobby room (Her hobbies.), and every weekend he gets to shop at Michael's (Craft Store.) with his sweetie. Whatever works for them I guess. ;-)

    Peace, J.R.

  11. ^ Oh man, that is so depressing!

My significant other just wants to see me happy, I usually take a console on holidays, even cruise ships. I put allot into our relationship though, we both agree that we can't all be the same, it would be like dating yourself!

  12. My cat doesn't seem to mind and lets me play video games when I want, he's not a needy cat so will sleep next to me while I play if he feels like it, but I don't force him to watch if he doesn't want to. We break it up with some of his favourite hobbies
like chasing a fake mouse on a string, we're a good pair like that.

Met my wife on a MMO almost 15 years ago, nowadays when she goes to bed, she asks me to keep her safe from terrorist and/or zombies.

Lately she's been bugging me to play Gears of War with her, and she can't wait for Quantum Break to come out.

    So I think I'm good.
