Trial memberships are not proper memberships, and cannot be used for things such as Games with Gold, as well as Vault Games. Only paid Gold Memberships will give you the full features of Gold Membership.

Sorry to hear it. Xbox One Games with Gold games do require a Gold membership in order to continue playing them. If your membership expires you'll either need to purchase the game or continue on with a new membership.

Xbox 360 Games with Gold games are your to keep regardless of your membership status.

yes i used to game share with my brother! although it worked to begin with but now it doesnt work anymore and we put him as the xbox as his home xbox and it didnt work

Can you double check if his account is set as home xbox on your new console. Maybe he mistakenly switched it back to the old one.

with HIS account on the NEW console:

Press the Xbox button  on your controller to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

Check if the home xbox option is ticked

Buddy, please try to make the new Series X console the ne new home Xbox Using the account that own the subscription. if you paid on the subscription on your Brothers Xbox and account the subscription should be on that account and is the one you need to use to set up the home Xbox,

Here’s how to change your home Xbox:

1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
   
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.
   
3. Do either of the following:
   
   • Select Make this my home Xbox to designate the console as your home Xbox, or:
     
   • Select Make this my home Xbox and then Remove this as my home Xbox to remove the designation.
     

Note Customer support can’t offer additional switches. If you’ve made five home Xbox switches for the year and you need assistance, select Help when you see the message Can’t make this your home Xbox. You may be eligible to receive an exception.
