    Gametag lost


    I loggged on my Xbox one today and my profile was wiped. I had to restart it like I was getting a new one. Once I got on I still had data saved but I can't get on my profile now. You can still find the profile when you search for it but I can't log on. I
    need help recovering!!

    If you can’t sign in to an Xbox LIVE profile on your console, here are some other ways to find your Microsoft account:

    • Go to accounts.live.com and try signing in with what you think is your Microsoft account (email address and password). If you can sign in to Windows Live, the email address and password you entered
      are valid. Next, go toXbox.com and try signing in with this same information. If you’re prompted to create a new gamertag, the Microsoft account you entered is not currently associated with
      an Xbox LIVE account.
    • Check your email accounts for messages about your Xbox LIVE Membership (search for messages about “Xbox LIVE” or “Microsoft billing”). This may help you determine which email address is associated with your Xbox LIVE membership (an email address is part
      of your Microsoft account information).
    • If you know your Microsoft account but can’t remember your password, try resetting your Microsoft account password.
    If you still can’t find your Microsoft account information, contact Xbox Support using the Assistance information at the bottom of this page. You’ll be asked several questions to confirm your identity before your Microsoft account can be looked up. Please
    have your payment information (such as the credit card associated with your account) handy when you contact Xbox Support.

    LOST GAMETAG?!

    Have you bought anything with your primary account recently? If so, it will appear on the
    account site when you sign in with the proper account. If you sign in with this same address and you do NOT see the recent purchase, then you're not using the correct account.

    One way to try and discover it is to, again, use recent purchase history to find the e-mail receipt that Microsoft sends you. Whatever e-mail got that receipt is most likely your intended Microsoft account's e-mail address.

    Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. It is possible that you signed in with what you believe is the correct email to your account, but it is in fact a different email you should be using. Keep in mind that the option to create a new outlook email is
    given to you when you created your account.

    All gamertags are attached to a single email, so there is no way to get a new gamertag after a format if you used the correct email. I recommend contacting Xbox support directly. Give them your old gamertag and see what options they have for you to recover
    it.

    1. Contact us here
    2. Select My Account
    3. Say No thanks to the virtual agent
    4. Select Error Messages and codes
    5. Skip step 3 and go to step 4
    6. Select request a callback from support
