I really find it kinda stupid that microsft force changes names without actually looking at them I have had the same gamer tag for over the years ever since xbox came out and today they decide to change it I for one will no longer be supporting Microsoft
when I tried to get ahold of them I had to answer a questionnaire I'm not in the mood to play your answer this question. I want my questions answered I know it's only ten bucks but ya know people actually pay to have a name and it's messed up cause in this
generation you got all these little sensitive little cry baby's who complain about everything

No. The only way to get it for free would be to make a brand new account.

Hello,

I did never own a XBOX, but it seems i did set a username a long long time ago.

Now i wanna change thew gametag and i get charged for 10 bucks? like seriously?

Is there a way to gte it for free or what?

Actually your tag would have been changed because they looked at it. That's how they would have determined it violated the code of conduct. It doesn't matter how long you've had a tag, it just means it took that long for someone
to report it.

My game tag was changed for what was said to be inappropriate. I was not told untill after it was changed it was not inappropriate. Now my people don't know that it's me..I think the game tag that was picked for me is inappropriate if the one I had was inappropriate.
Furthermore if I'm able to type in a gametag or pick one pre generated at the making of my account then why is it not posted up front to let ppl know that if we type our own gametag from hthe get go its using up the free gametag change.this is unfair and
downright stupid. If what I picked as a gametag was inappropriate then why was i able to have it for so long.I pay for the gold live I should be able to at the least be able to pick a tag that has my name in it my name is not joey and I'm not scary

Well it's easy read the terms of use

Your name must be rated E for everyone

Second get 10bucks and pay for your name changei

And no there is no free name change this is punishment not a reward

Fyi too many forced name changes will result in a perm ban of your account

Take this as a second chance and consider the rules more seriously

Please don't bump old threads. The enforcement team are the only ones who handle forced name changes, and you can only contact them in this forum -

It doesn't matter how long you've had the tag, it just matters if it violates the code of conduct or not. You may have had it for so long just because it took that long for someone to file a complaint on you.
