I robbed Ebgames blind trading in my secondhand ps3 and secondhand ps3 games for store credit. It can go either way.

Look up this website called ebay. I just tried to trade in Wolfenstein a week after it came out. With a 40% trade in bonus and my power up rewards bonus they offered me $32. Instead I put in on ebay for $50 and it sold in less than a day. Problem solved.

This is how this works. How much you get for the game depends on how many copies of the game that the GameStop company has. If they have a lot of copies of Borderlands and then you sell them yours, you can not expect them to give you $18.99 for a game that
they have thousands or millions of. So that is why you got so little money for it. They won't pay top money for a game that they have a lot of or for a game that no one wants. No game store will give you top dollar for a game that they have a lot of or for
a game that no one wants. So if you think that you can get more for it then sell it on amazon or ebay. But
no person in their right mind will pay top dollar for a game that is old or for a game that they have a lot of
or for one that no one wants. Dont get mad at GameStop because you were dumb enough to think that you would get more money.

[/quote]Are you kidding me with that? See this is
exactly the reason GameStop is a rip-off, because they assume its actual user value. If nobody is dumb enough to buy an old game, for fear nobody wants or plays it anymore, then that pretty much defeats the purpose or ebay or Amazon, huh? Besides,
not everybody is that resourceful, you have to be careful with those types of websites. Why shouldn't I expect $18.99 if that's their used game sale for that game at the time? That's the value according to them for a used copy, is it not? That's technically
what a trade-in is, us selling the game back; Used. Needless to say I have every right to be, not mad, but disappointed or however you chose to view it. It's not dumb to expect what I expected, it was as crystal as I described it, a rip-off.

They have to make money. they dont know how long your trade in will stay on the shelf or if it will ever be sold. Most games get thrown out that are that old. it is a rip off, I keep all my games now no more trade ins.

  6. Trading/selling at gamestop is something someone will do if they have little or no financial knowledge or experience. Presenting your games at Gamestop is like saying "Hi, I'm a moron! Please rip me off because I deserve it!"

Gamestop is not your friend, and they're not there to give you a fair price. They're a business and there to make money. They have to pay for store space, utilities, employees, and etc. They're not a non-profit organization and they still have to make money
on those games as well. With a game as old as Borderlands, it's likely going to sit on their shelves for months, which is taking up space that another game could occupy. So no, they can't and don't offer you a good value for your trade ins, but what they
do offer is convenience since it's pretty simple to take your games in and leave with something new. If the convenience isn't worth the price to you, then don't trade in your games with GameStop. It's as simple as that really. It's not worth it to me, so
any games I decide to sell go up on eBay or Amazon. It takes a little more work, but you end up getting the fair market price minus about 13% after eBay and PayPal fees.

The only reason to trade in is convenience. I will do it when they have a good trade in price + a trade in bonus + I'm feeling lazy

  9. I never trade in my games anymore and haven't for years...last time i took in 11 games to Gamestop a few years ago and was offered enough to buy a pack of Juicy Fruit i left with those games and now am a game hoarder.

  10. I, like Black Wolf, have only ever traded games there is no way I will ever put back on again. Fusion Frenzy 2 for example was one, the original Xbox Fusion Frenzy was a blast, number 2 I never wanted to see again.

Though I might think about trading more if the prices were better, I currently have approximately 120 physical 360 games and I'm seriously running out of space, though it's probably nearly time to pack the ones up that I'm fully done with and store them
somewhere not in the TV unit.

  11. JUST SAY NO.

    .

Sell them on eBay or keep them. It's better to own Borderlands than to take $1 for it.

Yep, nobody is holding a gun to a trader's head. Just laugh at them and walk out.

I work at Gamestop. While I don't agree with everything they do, nobody is forcing you to trade in your stuff. Sure, we don't give that much on older titles, but a lot plays into how much we offer. It depends on how new or old it is, how popular or rare
it is, and how many we have in stock. There are a whole bunch of other things that factor into it as well. You'll always get more for newer titles.

I confess to finding it puzzling at how some folk expect their games to retain their retail value or near to it.

With recent news regarding Gamestop store closures, apparently it's NOT how business works.
