Gamestop closing stores

Netflix prices are only going up for new customers. Current subscribers are being given a "generous" grace period to the price hike. They don't specify how long "generous" is.

Gamestop closing hours after midnight?

Most stores stay open till about 1:00-1:30. One of the ones near me stayed open till 2 for the PS4 but may not do the same for the one.

 

I like Gamestop...you can usually find rare games that the box stores wouldn't bother stocking.

The nice thing about Netflix is they'll hold your account in standby for up to a year. I usually reactivate during the winter months.

@D33dles I agree I have so many stores in my area (Boston Ma) they are everywhere which is nice if you want something today but it is overkill.

The problem with there whole Mobile move is that they are late to the show BestBuy and Radio Shack among others have all ready done this.

 

And the developer of the game gets squat of the sale of the used game.

I'll be so happy when that store closes its doors for good.

 

True. Though in my case (Michigan.), it's easier to find a Gamestop than BestBuy or Radio shack; closet BestBuy is 28 miles away.

The selling of used games is a non-issue for me, as I like things new and shiny. Though why would you deny those not in financial good standing from the opportunity to play? Do you take this stance with everything in your life? Never bought or sold a used
car? Never purchased from/had a garage sale, or bought/sold on EBay? Ever "traded up" your phone? Do you really think the people that develop/design the games make a windfall? They are paid for their work...it's the publishers/CEOs/guys that play golf in suits
(That probably never played or made a video game.) that make the millions. Maybe you should just buy indie games from now on; at least the creative talent gets the coin.

I'll keep buying new games, though not because I worry about "who" gets the money. Though it will be a sad day when Gamestop closes. Not only because it takes away choice, but because there will be a lot of jobs lost.

If Gamestop closes all there stores it's not going to stop used games form being traded in. WalMart. BestBuy, Target etc etc will just do it instead.

Some people just think GameStop is the devil I don't like a lot of what they do there.. like selling new games that are open!!!! but I still like to have the choice rather then shop on line and wait for a delivery to come in the mail.

Anyways, I doubt this means anything as far as Gamestop is concerned.

 

I'm sure it means a lot to its employees though. :|

 

Bestbuy and Walmart are already doing it, though one of my friends told me Walmart pays less than Gamestop.

My biggest pet peeve with Gamestop...if it isn't wrapped in cellophane...it ISN'T new, and I won't accept it.

Sad to hear people will be losing their jobs, though when a company cant get their costing right, then its only inevitable.

 

In my country, their prices are usually $20 more expensive then Target for new games. For rare and old stuff I just go to pawn shops.

[/quote]Lets be honest if you don't have any problems paying for a year straight up there's not much of a reason to pay for Netflix anymore with the price increase + tax over Amazon Primes instant video. On top of that HBO just signed a deal with Amazon
(Sadly no GoT though). Besides, with Amazon you also get the free 2 day shipping on items / 1 day for $4 on the majority of the stuff they sell.

 

They can see the "writing on the wall" as it were. Not to be controversial to those that disagree but, they see the future will be digital. Just like all the music stores that used to exist. IMO tho.
