Gamesharing issues playing games at the same time

Hey everyone! So a buddy added my account to his xbox and i added his and we each made the other person’s home xbox. We are each able to download the games that the other owns or has because of gamepass etc.

Our problem is when we both try games. They dont even have to be the same game if I try and play COD for example and him Madden. It will display a message that you are already playing, do you want go exit out on the other xbox.

Any help or advice on how to fix it would be great. Also I have the xbox series x and he has the xbox one x.

According to the explanation you have provided, I believe you have but a little issue with changing profiles on your console. Therefore, you will only need to follow those simple steps that I will provide you with and your issue should be fixed.

The first step you will need to follow is to ensure that your home console is set up correctly, so please follow the link bellow:

Designate a home Xbox | Xbox Support

After you make sure that the account you have the game is set up correctly please sign out or switch profile, then sign in with the account that does not own the game.

The second step is to make sure that you are signed in with two different profiles.

Please make sure that the profile that does not own the game is the one signed in on the console you made the home xbox. As for the account that owns the game can be signed on the other console.

Im a little confused. My friend gameshared a game with me and now that I am on my own xbox it won’t let me play the game at the same time as her.

gamesharing as you are doing is against the t&c's, it is their for use in the same household or for when you replace or have to replace a console, gamesharing to allow others to play games can lead to a ban.

We gameshare on the same console, but as I stated the game works fine and so do most of the DLC so its definitely not a home xbox issue.
