Gamesharing issue - mostly a pain with multiplayer

So I've been gamesharing with my daughter (who is the only other family member under Family settings) for a while now. We play competitive multiplayer shooters together as well as other multiplayer titles. She's big into Fortnite (big surprise - she's nine
years old), so we play that on a regular basis on the same team. In the past the setup had me on a Xbox One X, and I gave her my original Xbox One. We never ran into any issues playing together in multiplayer games.

Now I was fortunate enough to snag an Xbox Series X, and gave her my Xbox One X. I reset the original Xbox One so I can give it away or donate it. Only now it's not letting us play together anymore. We also have separate Gold accounts (wasn't even sharing
that part). But now we can't play any multiplayer title together (the same would be for a single player title, but that's not a huge issue).

I went to various websites and Youtube to look for a solution, but so far no luck. I played with the "Make this Xbox my Home" for both of our accounts on the Series X per one of the popular Youtube videos, but that didn't work either. She'd log in on the
Xbox One X and it now tells her that the original account that bought the game has to login on her console. Which doesn't make any sense when we're talking about a game like Fortnite, which is free.

I'm just trying to find a solution that lets us play together again. Any help here is greatly appreciated.
