Gamesharing DLC?

After many months of game-sharing I have noticed that some DLC are not working for the people who did not buy it. For example the Explorer's Pack DLC for Elder Scrolls Online does not work for me because I am not the one who purchased it. If Microsoft does
not want DLC to be game-shared then why do they not give us the option to purchase it? I would gladly purchase it instead of having it say "installed" and not being able to do anything about it. I have encountered this problem with many DLC.

I have a quick question about gamesharing. Can the person who is gamesharing with me see my credit card and use it?

 

Need help with sharing of purchased content on my home xbox.

Some DLC's won't work with gamesharing.

 

The feature was designed for use in the cases of buying a new Xbox, multiple Xbox consoles in your home, replacements due to repairs etc. Even though many do it, it's not meant for gamesharing outside of your home and can be considered marketplace theft.

Marketplace theft includes, but isn’t limited to:

• Getting, asking for, or using redemption codes illegitimately
• Transferring licenses to your console from an account that you didn’t create
• Using a system glitch or loophole for financial gain
• Using any sort of “shared” account to avoid having to pay for games or content
  
• Successfully redeeming or giving away a code and contacting customer support claiming the code didn’t work
  
• Attempting to defraud Microsoft or authorized agents
• Fraudulently transferring content licenses
• Sharing account credentials
• Asking to be added to someone’s third party subscription (such as Netflix, Hulu, etc.), in order to avoid restrictions or payment
  

 

bowski477 is right. It was not intended to be shared outside the household. But actually, you still have a way to purchase that specific content. You just need to sign in online on the website and buy it from there.

 

You would have to find the specific game in question in the Xbox store and locate the specific DLC you're having trouble with and purchase it from there.
