Gamesharing and copying games over to Xbox Series X

You need the original profile that purchasrd it

Copying a file doesnt transfer licenses

You still.need to have the original prifile to redownload it

Licenses dont transfee between consoles ita attached to profiles too

no such thing as gamesharing, its called the home settings for people with 2 xbox consoles in one house, or for when you change console so you can transfer the licences from old to new hardware.

The account that purchased the games has to have your new Series X set as their Home console for you to be able to play them.

May have nothing to do with the issue but it should be noted!

Some Series X/S games (Like Madden) you can only play people with the series X/S

Make sure the the correct version is installed on the consoles, X/S games do not run on the Xbox one.

Fair enough, a slow internet connection is as good excuse as any.

Be aware however that while that drive will work on Series X, you won't be able to play Series X games directly from it. Series X games will require faster access and read speeds. My understanding is that the Series X games can be 'backed up' on an external
drive and then need to copied/moved over to either the internal SSD or the External SSD's that will be available for the machine.

The Series X will read and play Xbox One games from an external drive though.
