Gameshareing

So me and my friend are currently gameshareing, but here recently I have been unable to play any of the games he owns on my account, It simply says that I must own the game to play it, does this mean that he has let someone else make his account their home
xbox and just didn't say anything or could it be a glitch in the system?

Gameshare question

I know that when you gameshare with someone you make their account your home Xbox. But what if I want to Gameshare with two friends? Would I have to keep switching their accounts as home back and forth?

Keep in mind you can only change your Home Xbox 3 times per year. If your internet is down you won't be able to play games offline if you're not on your home Xbox. You could find yourself with your account stuck on someones Xbox. If it was sent in for
repair or you needed access offline you may not be able to for a year. Also, if your friend has moved it because of this he may not be able to move it back or get it back to his Xbox.

The feature was designed for use in the cases of buying a new Xbox, multiple Xbox consoles in your home, replacements due to repairs etc. Even though many do it, it's not meant for gamesharing outside of your home so you'll want to be careful doing that
so you don't lose access to your account or the ability to have the home Xbox benefits in your own house.

 

Why is it now that in order for the gamesharing to work for me, I have to have both my gamertag and my gameshare partner/friend signed in? Thanks.

This just means that your friend have assigned another console as his homexbox. That's why you can only play his games by signing in both accounts at the same time. If you try to assign again your friend's account as your home xbox, you might get a message
that you already reached the limit of setting it up as home xbox. Then that means that your friend have already set it 3 times.

 

When does the one year time frame start? My friend said that he first made his xone his home in nov of 2014 and that it would be unlocked one year from then. I still cannot make my xone his home xone. So my question is essentially, does the one year time
frame start at the last license transfer or the first?

 

It's one year after the third time you set your home console
