Gameshare more than three times a year?

A stated buy a disc and share with how many people you want.

I think it would be nice if they would make it where you could just pick 3 or 4 people to share with all the time. If nothing else that would help out all the homes that have more than one Xbox One .

@goth I'm not sure what is so lol. You have a disc and share it with a friend, I must either a) hand it to them personally which involves travel to make happen or

b) by Post to friends who live a long way away.

In Both Cases I cannot play that game anymore while said game is in someone else's possession.

I have console sharing set up with a mate from another state. I buy games I like he buys games he likes and we both can play one game at the same time or whenever we want. No posting, no asking for the game back so I can play it.

 

this kind of thing is still a grey area, gamesharing should be against the rules, its called buy or rent the games simple.

 

I disagree. I just think that it should be more defined within the rules. As of right now, it isn't, which is what's causing that grey area.

 

Technically, this gamesharing is in violation of TOS and possibly illegal. Don't know why MS have been lax on enforcement but dun care. I use it. But if you can't research enough to find that it's only allowed 3 times a year then IMO you get what you deserve.
Did you really think they would allow 1 person to buy a digital game and share it a million times over? 3 times a year...That's it.

 

If it were against the rules they would not give you the option to do it 3 times a year. Not a grey area if they give you the option.

 

it is technically not gameshare, it is for when your console breaks and you replace it then you and your family can continue using the content, plain and simple in the rules, they gave the other option of signing in on somebody elses console so you and a
friend can play your games together. the gamesharing system that was supposed to be like your all on about was trounced by those complaining of the 24hr checkin.

Home console means just that "home console", near enough the same as a licence transfer on the 360.

 

They plan on your system breaking 3 times a year? Hmmmmm, No. Also if that was they case they could do the digital rigs switch when they send it back. Just like they did on the 360. Or give you the option to do it on the web, just like the 360. Along with
that if you sign into another (friends) Xbox One with your GT the content works as long as you are on LIVE.

Now if it's plain and simple and in the rules, please provide me a link.

 

I'm still confused as to how someone "accidentally" game shares 3 times?

I understand the intentions of this program, but I also feel there is a big grey area there. Just going on YouTube, looking in the comments section, there is a large group of people who post their gamertags looking to game share with others just to get
free games out of it.

 

I wish the old system would have went through. And I am not saying they would not have done some good things but I would have to see them let you have multiple people share your games. And see them be able to play together. All I ever really saw about
it was they were working on it. You know the amount of lost sales if they let people share their digital games with multiple people and let them play together. And that was a known issue. It would have turned out like this (in my view):

1. You could share games but not play them at the same time.

2. You had limited # of people you could share with. And they would not let you change often because that could easily be abused in a far worse way than the home console thing

3. The sharing would have been on the home console. They kept saying that games could be shared, yes, but they kept pointing out that anybody on your console could play those games. Like it is now.

The reason I say this is that if they wanted to they could easily push those ideas to digital right now. All digital games require the main account be signed in or that the home console is used. So they could easily push this through. NOTHING is stopping
them from allowing some better form of game sharing for digital just like before. The shared games would just need to be online. So I could use my games offline and anybody on my console. But for a game that is shared the person must connect to verify the
game and start. Not hard at all and nothing stopping this.

The bigger issue for something farther reaching than what we have is that everybody you share a full game with could be a lost sale. Imagine COD Black Ops 3. If a person could buy and then share with 4-5 others at the same time there is no way sales would
not take a huge hit. My oldest son would split the cost with a couple friends and they would share. If it was a case of only one could use it at a time that would make a difference in some of these games. But with single player games it would still hurt
badly. Just cannot see them leaving that money on the table.

And I have heard so many promises before like that and they never worked out. Would have been easy to have the system we have now when launched. Claim they were working on the sharing games feature and then have something come out that is very limited.

Enough of the digital sharing talk from me anyway. They seriously could easily put those things in place for digital and push digital right now if they wanted. Nothing stopping them at all.
