Gameshare more than three times a year?

My cousin wants to gameshare with me, but he has changed his home console three times already. Is there any way he can do it besides waiting a year??? Any help is appreciated.

Can't use the game share option

I tried to use gameshare after getting a new Xbox and the gameshare said I've used it too many times and I haven't used it more than two times

 

My Home Xbox Reset

You can change your home console up to 5 times every 12 months,which is more than enough.

Gameshare/home console feature is meant to be used for households with more than one console,not for sharing with your friends.

If you have reached the 5 time limit then you will have to wait 12 months.

 

He can try contacting support, but otherwise, no.

 

I think he has to wait till next year. It seems like he was abusing the game share feature though.

 

Buy a disc and you can share all you want.

To the OP you are going to have to wait it out.

The decision to game share should be better thought out. Pick someone you are good friends with and are likely to stick with. Chopping and changing isn't the way to go. Share with someone that buys different games to you for most benefit.

 

No you do not need to wait, I was in the same predicament. I contacted support through online chat, explained my problem and they reset it back. I do wish people wouldn't comment when they do t actually know ^^

@lex I do actually know it has a limit of 3 times a year max. Now just because a phone call to MS support allowed an exception to be made doesn't make it the norm. I'm giving advice on this situation as the MS rules set out.

See how many times you can get support to resolve the issue for an individual on more than one occasion.

What relevance does that have. The op wanted to know I he could reset it, I said yes. He also didn't mention anything about resetting it multiple times. But from what I gather its only the one reset he needs.

 

Perhaps if you answered questions outside the norm, more people would actually get there situation sorted.

The sharing policy is rife with abuse of the system. Most of which is unintentional.

The 3 switch limit was put in place to deter people from using the system more than once or twice in households with multiple Xbox Ones.

The problem is that the notification system in place doesn't express the severity that the user will essentially be locked out of their Xbox One for 1 year if they exceed the number of times allotted.

What many are doing is bringing their Xbox One to a friends house, changing the home status and then changing it back when they return home. The next time they go and change it at a friends house, they will discover that when they try and re-establish the
console to a home console when they return home they won't be able to do anything for a year.

If anything the number of times you can switch should be 4 times. because after 3 times, you've essentially signed over your Xbox One and digital game library to your friend.
