Gamescom impression of games and console thoughts.

The gameplay I saw today at Gamescom wasn't too impressive, but I'm still excited.

I just saw a Report on Giga.de (german game channel) and the media actually had a Chance to Play Killzone for PS4 but it is very struggling with framerate issues and the game Plays very slow right now. This is probably the reason why they did not have it
playable for the crowd. Giga is actually very disappointed by the game (and Giga is very very very pro PS4). No Innovation, nothing new. They only gave it a medium Rating.

After all, I think Microsoft has finally showed here at Gamescom that they can do some decent PR. the momentum is slowly but continually shifting towards Xbox One.

I'm sorry but you are wrong. There was Watch_Dogs and AC4 for starters on PS4, not to mention a fair few indie games and they also demoed Shadowfall. So I'm not quite sure what Sony stand you visited. I thought Microsoft had a pretty strong showing and as
you say there was a definite upswing in interest in the xbox One over the few days I was there. I did find it weird that certain games like inFAMOUS Second Son weren't playable given the rave reviews it received from E3 though.

The PS4 booth was a joke, no chance of getting to any console in less then 3 hours or so. And they did a great job hiding that thing, if you did not queue up - no chance. Fair enough, I was only looking for the One.

The Dead Rising gameplay demo was really funny, the game looks great, but has its problems to keep the framerate steady. Hopefully they can fix/improve this till November.

My personal highlight was Project Spark! Great sandboxing/programming101. However they were showing a build that was about 3 months old, the build code even mentioned Durango...

Forza was just as expected - awesome! Superb graphics and a constant 60fps. If it only had faster load times...

First game to be played on gamescom was Peggle 2... Oh dear, I didnt care, was just looking to get a hands-on with the Controller. To me that thing is just perfect - can't wait!

And I was surprised how "small" the One is. It is really nice to look at and I though it would be way bigger, but the size is just fine to me

@ dull blade: very good comparrison. Xbox One is definitely picking up Speed. Maybe not on the Internet Forums but definitley with people out there!

I also forgot to mention the Avatar scanner. Kinect scans your face (and Body) and creates an Avatar. It actually worked pretty well and is a very cool Feature.
