Games won't start.

Sometimes after updating a game it wont start. I don't get an error message either. sometimes the issue is resolved by reinstalling the game but i'm tired of having to download the whole games again after every few updates. Is there any way to fix this permanently

Games won't start

I was playing minecraft when the game started to bug a little. Eventually it said there was a problem, no code, and kicked me out to the menu and that's where it froze.

I have since restarted the console and whenever I launch the game I can get the start menu but when I try to access my worlds it just won't load.

I have tried launching other games since, ones I played as recently as yesterday, and they also get stuck on the opening menu.

Nothing has updated or been installed recently before or since this issue which could affect the it

I have 2 accounts. Terraria has a bug that gets stuck at loading on my main account so I play on my other all the time. I played for 1 month without any problems until yesterday. After playing some other games (and downloading robocraft infinity beta, tera
beta, and super hot) I tried opening terraria a few times on both accounts and got the "do you own this game or app" error message. The game is not on a disc and I payed money for it. I tried everything, restart the console, power cycle, delete and reinstall
game, unplug console for a day, delete those newly downloaded games, nothing works. Every other game I have works and is fully functional but not terraria. I want to avoid factory resetting because the process always worries me and I need another way. I thought
about buying the disc version of the game just to see if it works but I'm not sure, any help would be appreciated.

 

it might be looked at if enough people report the issue through the console. But most of the time a hard restart will fix the issue instead of uninstalling and reinstalling the games

 

I've never personally experienced this though sometimes after an update it does the preparing games for first use pop up.

Are you by chance on a family account?

If that didn't work please navigate to the game under my games and apps and press the menu button and scroll down to saved data and select to delete all locally saved data. Your saved data will sync from the cloud once you open the game again

Hello Denninz619, it is best for the console if you power cycle after each update before loading any games. You can try clearing your mac address in settings- network settings- advanced network settings to see if that helps.

 

I've had this issue myself in Overwatch and Fortnite, I would suggest performing a power cycle before starting the update.
