    games wont open on external hard drive


    i just bought a WD Elements external hard drive for my xbox and games will not open on it, i get error 0x800701E7 and 0x8027025a, ive formatted it, unplugged it, plugged the xbox into another outlet, restarted the xbox, nothing works.

    This happened to me, I had to manually go in and transfer the DLCs from the external to the internal, for some reason the game wont register all of the add ons and the game wont work if some of them are on the external hard drive and vice versa.

    What do you mean you were "replacing" the hard drive?

    Did you actually open the Xbox One and replaced the built in hard drive? Or did you replace an external USB hard drive?

    What Xbox 360 games are you trying to play? Are you using Disc based games, or digital download games?

    Yes but only if the external hard drive is formatted to FAT32.

    If it is formatted to NTFS then it wont work
