Games with Gold

Now I know I can't be the only one that thinks that the free Games with Gold are very mediocre and less than what Microsoft is capable of. I have been with Xbox my whole life. I consider it to be dominant to other gaming systems, but this games with
gold kinda makes me loose more and more respect every time a game comes out that isn't worth my time to check it out or Microsoft's time to pretend like it is worth getting. With that said, I know that some very good games have been the free game like Fable
3, Halo 3, Halo Reach, Hitman, Battle Block Theater, Charlie Murder, and Gotham City Impostors. That was just 7 out of the 37 games that have been released on the Games with Gold. I find it hard that i'm paying about $50 a year (same as Play Station Plus)
but only getting two free games a month that are not even that good. Why do they get more from there free games than us? Over with PlayStation they get 2-3 GOOD games a month. I checked and one month they got 12 free games. They have had so many good games
it's insane. I really hope that you guys can step it up or I might just get rid of Xbox because i don't see the reason to pay for something that I can pay the same amount for and get better quality games.

I've had people call me arrogant in the past because I do act like I know everything from time to time and although I don't know everything, I do still know a lot and try to approach things from a practical standpoint whenever I can - I've become significantly
more humble and careful with things I say over the past few months due to past transgressions with other posters as well.

As for how much I game, it has indeed come to a point where I'm on the forums more than I game, but I do still use my Xbox consoles to play games and do other things - at least 3 hours a day if I were to put a number to it, which is a lot considering all
of the other things I make time for in my life.

Regardless of what you or anyone else thinks of me, I'm here because I enjoy it and the people I socialize with (most of the time). I also enjoy helping others whenever and wherever I can. If I end up being wrong about something, I accept that and move on
(which I admit I didn't often do in the past) rather than holding a grudge - after all, those are the worst things to have.

 

Xbox games for gold are free games, they are not included in your membership fee.

Your subscription price did not increase when games for gold was introduced.

Playstation plus is a paid for service that gives you games and deals each month.

The two are completely different.

You say you only have liked 7 games, just those 7 games are of more value than your cost of a years subscription.

Add the value of 37 games up at their retail price and tell me how much over $50 that comes too????

There isn`t a single rule that says you can`t own both consoles.

 

Yeah...but the raven game is pure crap. That shouldn't be a game at all because its boring

 

Its boring to you, others may like it, some may play it just because its free.

Personally i can`t stand the halo games, but i hear some people actually like them.

 

While I can't say that "I've been on Xbox Live my whole life", I have been around for the past 8+ years and out of the 37 games that have been offered, I may have downloaded 1 of them. Most of the games offered I either have already or don't have any interest
in. Having said all of that... I don't care what games are offered, odds are I'm not going to download them anyway.

 

I have been gold for 4 months in the last 2 years, in that time i started the download on every free game, whether it interested me or not.

The day i want to play them they are right there in my download history, if not what have i lost??

 

What you need to remember as well, is there are a lot of subscribers who have maybe never played games such as Rainbow Six Vegas, Halo 3, Gears of War etc and they are now getting these for free. Also, you may have played these games but when you download
it you own that digital copy forever and can play it anywhere your gamertag is signed into XBL.

I can safely say that 2-3 free games a month that I can keep forever is definitely something worth it, and right now I'm able to pre-download the free games for X1 meaning that when I get my new console, I've got a library of games waiting on me.

You are also misunderstanding the concept of PS+ totally - it's a subscriber service, a premium to get bonus things that free players don't. Sure you can play multiplayer on PSN without PS+ but the point of XBL is that by paying to play online you contribute
to a superior service and with that you reap the added benefits of free games, heavily discounted downloadable content and games along with more.

When you end your PS+ subscriptions, all those games are no longer free... with GWG you keep ALL of your games you've downloaded FOREVER.
