Games with Gold

Meh, I'm not too fussed about the whole situation to the point of getting ones frillies in a twist.

 

Well obviously the program started too early. Everyone was crying and complaining that PS4 had free games so Xbox listened and started up GWG with X1, but are for some reason still getting bashed for it. To complain about not enough deals and discounts is
one thing because some games have been out long enough to warrant some kind of price cut, but to sit here and say giving out a game two months in a row is bad is just dumb. For one, Max is very decent game, dare I say good. Second, the X1 is still new and
people are still buying them and XBL, so there isn't much need to go crazy with free games when an exclusive game like Max can be appreciated and played by even more new adopters. It's the thought that counts basically. Also, Guacamelee is a new game for X1
being released for free, so that may also be why MS sees it fit to just carry over Max. I don't know but at least GWG is here period.

 

What we need is a couple free to play games tucked in between games with gold. Was a treat when games that didn't count toward games with gold yet still free like World series of poker or World of tanks or Warface.

 

I do believe Ryse should be going on deals with gold relatively soon, due to..well..various reasons...but that is just speculation. Still, slightly understandable to continue with the past months game if just for the sake of those who are fresh to the Xbox

Ryse on deals with gold? Like how much 10% off? lol That game is like $20 on Amazon used. While XBOX marketplace milking it for $60 digitally new.

 

So because this isn't exactly like the competition, people are upset.

Don't care. Bought over 100 games during the Steam summer sale.

 

I could care less. If there is a game I want, odds are, I've already purchased it. I downloaded the Halo game on the slim idea that I might actually get around to playing it at some point, but it looks pretty "meh". As I've said before, I think they implemented
this GwG policy on the One about 6 months too early. There just aren't enough games out yet.

 

I think its always been one game a month for the One according to the small print. Two for the 360 which would make sense given the smaller library currently available for the One.

 

well you have to temper your expectations for Games with Gold on Xbox One ... i think the program started too early but it's what had to be done .. still .. they can't give out two games a month because in a few months the entire library would be free lol

 

To be honest I don't think people here should be moaning at all about GWG. It has only just launched on the XB1. I have had this discussion on another forums as a few where crying they are getting indie titles instead of full retail £40 games.

Like I said on PS4 forum. Wait until more games come out then you will most likely receive better titles. My guess is when Battlefield Hardline comes out or Assassin's Creed Unity comes out you may get Battlefield 4 or Assassin's Creed 4.

 

I thought they announced they were only giving one new Xbox One game a month? When it went up originally, Max had a removal date of August. So 1 new game a month, with the other game lasting 2 months. So In August, it will probably be Guacamelee and a
New game.

 

That would be an interesting way to do it Stan - have 2 games, but 1 of those games will last for 2 months, so you're actually getting 1 game a month, but you have a longer grace period to get it for free... Interesting.

 

Don't need a two month grace period. Heck when were getting two a month for 360. I use to click download then decline so it appeared in download history. Cause I don't always have time to download every game.

 

I think people complain about the quality of GwG because Sony have much better games than MS even though MS is a far bigger company than Sony and has more money to throw at publishers.

Ill also add that quite a few games on the One are published by MS.

I understand a slow start on the one but the 360 should of had a better selection.

 

At least you get a new game. It's July second here and it's the same two games. Guacamelee doesn't even turn up in the search bar. Microsoft really hate Ireland for some reason. They won't enable the Kinect here and we are second class when it comes to apps
and free games.

I don't see anything to complain about over there.
