Games With Gold XBox360 on XBox One

I have been a gold member for years. I had XBox 360s for years and now I have XBox Ones. I love the fact that I can get the 360 games for the One each month with games with gold. However, I am very frustrated that I have to input a payment type(credit
card, etc...) to download the 360 game on the actual XBox One. If I dust off the old 360, log in, and get the free game that way, it works fine with no payment option. But, if I try to get it on the XBox One or even the laptop via the website, you force
me to input a credit card for the "free" game because I have no payment option on file. The reason I have no payment option on file is simple: kids. I don't want my children to "accidentally" buy a whole bunch of games that I did not approve. When I am
ready to buy a game, I input my payment information and buy the game. Then I promptly remove that payment information for the reasons above. Please remove this "feature" from the XBox One and the website, so I can continue enjoying games with gold every
month without the hassle of either having to hook up the old 360 or input payment info(booting up the 360 and attempting to download to a full hard drive is actually easier than putting in payment info).

Deals With Gold

I went on the Xbox website and games for gold section is only listing Xbox one games. I cannot see the xbox360 games for gold
Anyone else

What you can also try is setting up a passkey for your payment option. Basically a password that you will have to create and input every single time you buy something. That way, while Xbox gets rid of that "feature" you can have your payment option on the
xbox without the fear that your children will get on there on go ham with the purchases. This can be done under account settings > Sign in security and Passkey > Change My sign in sign-in & security preferences > use a passkey > customize > and it should let
you apply it solely for purchased. I know its not the solution youd like, but it is an option.

 

When claiming free Xbox 360 content on an actual Xbox 360, the requirement of a payment method is waived, but such a payment method is required on any other device (Xbox One, PC, app, etc.). Another option is a Paypal account that you maintain and have
activated, but is not necessarily funded. But Error404Bot is right ... you should have a passkey set on your account to prevent unauthorized purchases.

Even better, your children should each have their own separate Microsoft account and gamertag so that they are not using your account.
