Games with Gold - XBL (do we loose games if XBL expires)?

Many websites are suggesting the xbox one games with gold differs from the xbox 360.

Please confirm if I were to let XBL expire, do I loose access to prior games for gold that I downloaded to my XBL account or do i keep access forever whether it's gold or silver?

my suggestion is to play them as much as you can. Once the previous owner sets a new XB as his home, or his XBL account expires you will loose access to the games. Do not fear tho. If its a game you like you can just purchase a digital license and continue
playing.

XBL Silver accounts still have access to the cloud for game save purposes, so your games would still save on the cloud even if you let gold expire.

 

You do lose access, same as the competition for the one.

 

For proof search the site for "gold changes faq" then see the first * note at the bottom. Figured I would back up my statement.

You'll lose access if the membership lapses, but will regain it if you renew to Gold.

For what it's worth, it appears that the first game - Max: The Curse of the Brotherhood - is now free to download.

 

I'd imagine if you lose Gold and get back into it, I'm sure you can still play it as long as you don't delete it while it's free.

 

You keep the games forever on 360. They're based on your gold on xbox one.

 

Remember though, it's called "Games WITH Gold" so you will need to keep a Gold membership if you want to keep playing the free games. That is one of the perks of keeping a Gold membership.
