Games with Gold XB1

Triple A titles are great and I have a long list of them I can't wait to see. But at the same time there is a plethora of small developers coming up with innovative new games constantly and taking the triple A only viewpoint narrows your gaming potential.

 

Ok ranger I'll start by saying that none of the indie games you have chosen for me to look at are on the ps4. Which is what we were talking about. Now if we are going to bring pc into this debate the. That's a different matter. I'm still yet to be convinced
that they can pull off the indie games you named on a console. I'm still dubious as to whether sony can pull off planetside 2 on a console without downscaling it hugely compared to pc. As for games like day z and rust, survival games like that have no appeal
to me. Insurgency looks like a counter strike ripoff and space engineer looks fairly dull. Mind you this is all just personal preference of course. I'm not knocking what you like mate but your making it out that this is a huge selling point. That's all well
and good if your into that type of thing. It's like the fact that I'm a huge fan of strategy games. It's the reason I will always own a pc. Everyone is into different things. To me most indie while having some good ideas just don't appeal. Besides if I was
going to get into indie titles I would stick with pc.

The vast majority of the indie games on the PS were PC first so any game make the leap.

I tried.....It appears a lot of people here don't find any appeal to the indie game offerings that cover about every genre imaginable so I don't know what does appeal to you guys.

My concern is the Xbox is going to turn into the recycled FPS and dumbed down action RPG console because that's all the community wants. Lots of other stuff out there, just need to try it and ask for what you like.

 

Like I said mate. If I was going to play indie games (should one ever appeal to me) I would do it on pc. It's just not why I buy a console is all. It's like Titanfall. I had a choice of either getting it on pc or xbox one. I chose xbox one because I find
the multiplayer community better on there than on pc. The pc multiplayer community is too disjointed. You have a different community for each individual game. It's not only that. As I've said before. I have absolutely nothing against the ps4. It just doesn't
appeal to me in anyway. The only reason I get so defensive when people bring it up is because I'm here on an xbox forum to talk about one thing. Xbox! If I wanted to talk playstation I would go over to their forums. Personally I don't care what sony are doing.

I have a vested interest in the One also and I see it from a different perspective.

I look at all the options as far as genres on other platforms and I wonder why I'm not seeing them here. How many of the same type of games can we play? I look at the release calendar for the One and it's the same old stuff ( PS4 isn't much better but the
JRPG's are a bright spot for me ).

This isn't about talking about the others guys, it's about making the Xbox better and having it appeal to more people. The console that wants to be the "all in one" is pigeon holing themselves games wise with limited genres.

GDC news?

Microsoft is rather adamant that games ship either first on Xbox platforms, or ship at the same time as other platforms. While this is a sore spot for some indie developers, it ensures Xbox gamers are not getting leftovers from last year (what Don't Starve
on PS4 is). There are rare exceptions to the rule (Minecraft), but overall that's the party line they stick to.

I own several of those already on the PC (just picked up Forced yesterday). If MS wants to draw a line in the sand that they get them first or at the same time they'll lose. Most of the indie titles will come out on the PC first because they are being funded
by the PC community.

Look at the early access games on Steam. If you remove those games and take away the funding generated by the program most of those games will never see the light of day.

And if you're backing up your save files in Don't Starve you completely missed the point of the game.

 

Look this is my thing. Would it be nice to have free stuff? Of course it would. Am I going to sit here and complain that Microsoft are cheap just because sony is doing it? Hell no. Microsoft have said that they will do it eventually. In the mean time if
people are that worried about it, get a playstation. Whinging and complaining on here is pointless. Everyone know ms don't read these forums. I'm happy with my xbox one. I'm happy with the service I get paying for xbox live. If the give me more, great! If
not. I'm still happy with what I've got!

99 percent of the conflict in these forums is caused by people with no vested interest in the topic trying to tell people they shouldn't be asking for "fill in the blank". If someone starts a thread that they want baby blue colored One consoles who am I
to tell them they don't need it? Black works for me so I'll keep my mouth shut.

I don't have a problem with people saying that they are looking forward to the day when it comes out. That's fine! But when people start acting like they are being ripped off or are entitled to have free stuff, then that really annoys me. Personally I wouldn't
care if sony gave away 5 games a month for free and Microsoft didn't. Is all it comes down to is I hate greedy people. Free things are nice yes. Does the company owe you free things? No.

 

^^ Thats what I dont understand. Even the OP feels slapped in the face because he doesnt get free games. Why? What is MS going to give for the xbox one that isnt going to slap everyone else in the face who already bought the console. People are just so damn
impatient and have a I want it now attitude that it sickens alot of people.

The point of the game is to be brutally hard. I don't have the time in my life for a game to be that difficult, so I work around it. PC is the platform for working around things.
