Games with gold wont work

Hi, I got a couple of games with Xbox live gold. My gold recently expired but when i try to play the games i get an error message telling me to renew my xbox live. I checked the FAO and it says that I get to keep my games even after gold expires. Do any
of you guys know whether or not they changed their policy and if not what i should do?

7day Trial codes are not recognized as Gold

- they wont Show up anywhere

- they wont enable you to use Gold exclusive offers

in General they are meant for using with the game they are bundled with, but they may work with different games too

It wont effect anything, but trial codes sometimes wont work on an account that was once fully Gold, and if they do work they aren't a full Gold status and wont grant full access.

If you are talking about Xbox one Games then you need Gold to keep those active, but if you are talking about 360 games you should still have access to them.

If they're the Games with Gold for the One, gold is required to continue playing them for free. The 360 games do not require gold to continue playing them.

What happens to my Games with Gold games if I cancel my Xbox Live Gold subscription?

On Xbox One, you’ll no longer be able to access your Games with Gold titles if you cancel your subscription. However, if you decide to renew your subscription at any time, you’ll be able to
access and play your previously redeemed Games with Gold titles again.

On Xbox 360, any Games with Gold titles that you redeem as an Xbox Live Gold member are yours to keep, regardless of whether you continue your subscription.
