Games with Gold 'Repeats'

Once again, at least here in South Africa, we have gotten Ms Splosion Man as a Game with Gold title. Yes, again. The second time in 5 months.

Previously, when Castlevania wasn't available we had to endure 'The Maw' as a Games with Gold title for TWO MONTHS (June AND July 2019).

I know we as gamers; who pay our subscriptions and participate in all things Xbox don't count for much in the end, however, when someone randomly pulls out titles we have already been given (read paid for via subscription) more than once in one year - I
take offense.

To address this issue I did what anybody would do and went straight to Xbox Support. You guys wouldn't believe the hell that was. I went into the chat with an 'expert' telling them what the problem was. Not once or twice but four times. They obviously
aren't that 'experty' when they don't understand licensing issues and makes you hard reset your xbox one and do all kinds of random things like check your internet connection. I have the full transcript if anybody is interested in seeing what idiots Microsoft
employ.

My question is: Why give us a game that we have had twice in 5 months? Why not actually LOOK at what you've put out and then pick something that you haven't put out or haven't put out in recent months?

Hi everyone, thanks for the responses.

to address the first issue:

• The games aren’t FREE. If you don’t have an Xbox Live Subscription you don’t get any games.

• It IS a licensing issue, however, they could and SHOULD give thought about what they dump on players.

• Where would I report or discuss this issue with Xbox? They hardly respond on their Twitter account.

What I am going to do next (after editing out my personal details) here is paste the transcript of my correspondence with Xbox Support and you guys can tell me if I’m insane or if they’re inept. And to be honest I have never been treated like I was garbage
by anyone in my life as I was in that chat.

Hi there, I feel your frustration, I know I wouldn't be to happy about getting the same game twice in five months but it is FREE so I'm not sure what else you can do about the situation apart from Email Xbox and see if you can get an answer on why your getting
repeating games. It may have been a mistake.

I know that paying for a service we expect to get what we pay for. It might be an issue with your region and what Microsoft can offer in your region.

Thanks for reaching out to us in the Xbox forums with this question. In regard to the offerings for the free Games with Gold monthly, these are selected for offer in multiple regions worldwide. Some titles are simply not available in certain regions due
to region locking in accordance with the restrictions set by the countries of the region in conjunction with the restrictions set by the game developers themselves and is beyond the control of Xbox Support personnel to change or make an exception to. When
a title is repeated, this may be at an advantage as some newer Xbox Live Gold members, or existing subscribers, may have missed out on the opportunity to make a claim before. You may always check on
Xbox Wire about a week prior to the beginning of any month to see which games will be available to claim in your region.
