Games with Gold reedemed without Xbox Live Subscription.

Welcome!

I'm writing to you because i've experienced a weird situation. My gold subscription was gone for about 1 month but i was unable to download Dark Souls for free just a hour ago and it's working (?!) it's some kind of big bug right here or i've missed some
kind of promotion? Anybody can explain this?! I don't want to feel like a thief or get the account banned!

Suddenly I dont appear as a gold subscriber

Two days ago I reedemed a 3 months gold subscription card, and suddenly yesterday I appear as if i dont have any subscriptions, please help me.

I just had a look at the Marketplace and it does indeed look like Dark Souls has been made free for everyone rather than "free" being the Gold-exclusive price it normally is for Games with Gold. That to me looks like an error on their part and it shouldn't
punish you for that.

Provided that you downloaded it 'properly' (ie didn't change your region to access it or in some other way manipulate the store to get the free price) you should not have any issues continuing to play it and should not be in any trouble. However, if you
remain unconvinced, I'm trying to get hold of the @XboxSupport people on Twitter to confirm the status of this for you.

(Note that as an Ambassador I'm a volunteer from the community, not a Microsoft employee. That's why I'm trying to confirm with them.)

The @XboxSupport team confirmed to me that as it was not anything you did, you wouldn't get in any kind of trouble so you're okay to continue playing the game.

It looks like a pricing error so lucky you.

I very appreciate that you've asked support. I was just checking what's free this month and maybe after this buy gold :d. I must be very lucky (i was curious what will happen when i'll accept payment lol) and i didn't found same topic like mine.

It's because you need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play the game, YuhanLK. Once you purchase an Xbox Live Gold subscription you should be able to play the game without any issues.
