    Games With Gold on a Shared Xbox One


    Hey,

    I currently have a room mate who owns an Xbox One whereas I Own an Xbox 360. I am signed on to his Xbox One and we share the device. We both have our own Xbox Live Gold subscriptions. I am wondering about how Games With Gold works in this case. If my room
    mate downloads a game under the Games With Gold benefit and then I go to add the game as well from my own account, I am met with a button that says "Play".

    I am wondering if he game is being added to my account as well or if the game is only being added to his account? I am considering buying my own Xbox One when the Slim version is released and I would like to be able to carry the Games With Gold titles to
    the new Xbox.

    If you have 2 Xbox One's then you can share Gold and also share games that are purchased Digitally as Greasy mentions above.

    You buy Gold & Games on one of the Gamertags and then you load that Gamertag onto the other console and set it as Home Console and it will share the games and gold to that console.

    If you did not want to use that option and still need 2 Gold Accounts then check out CDkeys as you can get 12 months of Gold for about £25 each and also you can get a 5% Discount liking their Facebook page. You could get 2 12 months subs for under £50

    The game will not be added to your account only to the account that actually "purchases" it. Since it is already on the console and you are technically sharing his Gold account games that is why you can play the game. Hope this answers your question. Happy

    It does answer my question. It's disappointing though. It makes sense, but I would've liked to have been able to keep those games considering I had my own Gold Subscription. Oh well though.

    okay how about this one? I have a One but I do not have a 360 I wanna get the Tron Evolution game and it is compatible according to XBOX. Can I still download it directly to the One?

    You could put both accounts on the Xbox One and share the Live Gold as well as the games belonging to each. Unfortunately you can't merge the purchases of one account with another but the Xbox One does have a share feature.

    You cannot share across consoles. Game sharing/Gold sharing is meant for sharing games on one console.

    You will need two subscriptions. You may also have both profiles signed in on the console that’s designated as ‘Home’, this way, both parties can access the same games.

    However, if someone wants to play on the other console and signs out of the one with gold sharing, they will no longer have access to the benefits of Gold sharing and would require a separate XBL subscription to play.
