Games with gold NOT FREE!

ok so I just discovered that the games with gold are not free, at least when it comes to Xbox one titles.

Unlike Xbox 360 where if you happen to want to play a title you've downloaded there was no problems or requirements, Now it seemed that unless your paying for live on Xbox one you cant play any of the titles you've downloaded.

so the games are not free, your getting them and basically paying every month/year to play them, which is pretty darn costly when you add it up, Or fusterating if you can't pay for it every month let alone year.

My question is what the F. Is anyone else running into this? Do I have it wrong? What the heck changed from 360 to One? Budget cuts?

So much for trying out a new game thanks Xbox.

I've had people call me arrogant in the past because I do act like I know everything from time to time and although I don't know everything, I do still know a lot and try to approach things from a practical standpoint whenever I can - I've become significantly
more humble and careful with things I say over the past few months due to past transgressions with other posters as well.

As for how much I game, it has indeed come to a point where I'm on the forums more than I game, but I do still use my Xbox consoles to play games and do other things - at least 3 hours a day if I were to put a number to it, which is a lot considering all
of the other things I make time for in my life.

Regardless of what you or anyone else thinks of me, I'm here because I enjoy it and the people I socialize with (most of the time). I also enjoy helping others whenever and wherever I can. If I end up being wrong about something, I accept that and move on
(which I admit I didn't often do in the past) rather than holding a grudge - after all, those are the worst things to have.

It's been this way since the One was released in 2013 so it's not anything new and it was announced before the console was released. Even paying monthly, you're getting 24 Xbox games way cheaper than it would be to purchase all of them separately.

There's no such thing as "Free" with multi-billion dollar companies. There is, however, such a thing as "Free*".

Games with Gold is just an additional incentive to keep you subscribed to Gold. It's not a big conspiracy; it's spelled out in the terms.

I recommend you get a 12-month card for Xbox Live. It's always the cheapest route for Gold (in the long run) if cost is a concern.

It's always been this way on the xbox one.

Gold membership is for playing online etc. The free games are just a bonus.

It's not like a years gold is expensive.Shop around online & you can pick up a 12 month sub for around £25-30.

We recommend getting with support. They will be able to go over the account and asee what is going on.

When you go to
Contact Us to get it to request a callback follow these steps:

Step 1 ----select Xbox One
Step 2 ----select no thanks
Step 3-----select games
Step 4 ----select request a call from support

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you.

Hey Snip3r,

I'm sorry to hear about this issue not being able to download Battlefield 1 that came out as a Games with Gold today.

Let's try starting off with a complete power cycle.

Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 5 minutes.
Plug the console power cable back in.
Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

If that doesn't work then we would need to make sure the payment was for your Gold subscription as you say only your Game Pass subscription is showing. I would suggest to look over your

Order History to make sure the Gold subscription was paid for. Also check the status of your Gold subscription by going to Settings>Account>Subscriptions.

If you would like further help for this matter, I suggest to contact
Xbox Support and get connected to a billing agent.

When you share gold the accounts that are sharing the gold get access to online multiplayer. Only the account that purchases the gold gets access to things like gold discounts or games with gold games. However, the games with gold games can be shared once
downloaded.

Theory of Game

Hey there. Sorry you misunderstood the offer, but the terms of the offer are on display. On the Games with Gold page (www.xbox.com/.../games-with-gold) at the bottom, it reads
as this:

"Games with Gold offer for paid Gold members only; active Gold membership required to play downloaded Xbox One games."

Xbox 360 games downloaded through Games with Gold are yours to keep. Should you re-subscribe to Xbox Live, your Games with Gold on the Xbox One will become available to play again.
